Aion is poised to dump its subscription model for the new “Truly Free” model with Aion: Ascension later this month, but current players will see some changes coming tomorrow. As of April 4th, current subscribers will have their accounts switched to “Truly Free” status as part of the upcoming changes. This will eliminate the recurring subscriptions and also reactivate former inactive accounts.

Accounts with leftover subscription time will have that time converted to NCoin, which can be used in the Aion Black Cloud Marketplace, which will be available starting April 4th. This conversion may take a little bit of time, so don’t be surprised if you don’t see it right away. As part of the new marketplace, Aion has put together a new custom buying option referred to as C.U.B.E. Give the trailer for it a look after the break.
