UGC Gives Fans the Ability to Easily Create Guides, Blogs, and Player Studio Promotion Pages

Pipe Creek, TX - The Ten Ton Hammer Network today announced the launch of its User-generated Content (UGC) system on EQHammer, a community site dedicated to the EverQuest Franchise. The UGC system is a brand new feature that gives the passionate gamers of the EQ franchise a platform for sharing their knowledge, experiences, and creations with fellow community members.

“In the spirit of EverQuest Next Landmark, the team at EQHammer is giving our community the tools to help create their own guides, articles, or even Player Studio pages right here on our site,” said Ten Ton Hammer Editor-in-Chief Reuben Waters.

The UGC system gives players the option to create different types of content including:

  • Guides. Players will share their expert knowledge with fellow players.
  • Blogs. From alpha journals to discussions on hot topics, blogs give players a means to share their experiences and opinions.
  • Player Studio Creations. Player Studio is already a part of the EverQuest II community and will be a major player in EverQuest Next Landmark after launch. Now, Player Studio creators have a means for sharing and promoting their work.

Fans will create their guides, blogs and promo pages via a WYSYWIG user interface that makes text formatting easy for those without web authoring skills. The system also supports image and video embeds, allowing users to create media-rich articles.

“We created this system for the unsung heroes of the official forums, Reddit, and other social sites,” said EQHammer Editor and Community Manager Karen Hertzberg. “People invest a lot of time into sharing their opinions, or helping other players by posting guides, or creating amazing Player Studio items, but their efforts to be seen and heard often get lost under a mountain of posts. We wanted to give them a platform.”

Much like the EverQuest MMOs the UGC system supports, players will earn achievements for their contributions in the form of badges and other perks. Community members are also able to rate content, helping the best submissions rise to the top. In order to keep the quality level high and deter spam, UGC is expertly moderated by the EQHammer team.

Fans can contribute content at EQHammer.com/contribute or read player-made submissions at EQHammer.com.
