38 Studios adds some bench strength to its all star line up.

The baseball analogies will never get old when talking about 38 Studios. Sports and MMOs go together like peanut butter and pickles, but I can't help myself. I blame two decades of ESPN for my affliction. Speaking of sports, Aubrey Hodges, announced in today's hiring bonanza at 38 Studios, is the former EA-Tiburon Composer and Sound Designer for the Madden franchise. Prior to that, Aubrey worked for studios such as Sierra Online and contributed on games including King's Quest, Doom and others for Midway Home Entertainment.

Also hired is Senior UI designer Irena Pereira who has migrated from Blizzard Entertainment where she worked on the original release of World of Warcraft, in addition to the two expansions. In addition to her gaming UI pedigree, Irena has worked in the "real world" too. In an ironic twist, I used to use one of products with her previous UI implementations from Homestore, which shows that UI crosses all industries.

If I have learned one thing from listening and reading 38 Studios' Curt Schilling, Irena will include one heck of a mailbox icon to whatever game Copernicus turns out to be. For more information, stop by the official 38 Studios press page.
