Update 12th November - Discussion Thread

Unless you were living under a rock or in a coma this week you probably know that AoC got another big update that pushed its first free PvE content area live. Players can now log in to explore Ymir's Pass and experience the new content given to us by Funcom. You can read this thread for some good discussion and a bit of QQ.

AoC Community Survey #5 (6 month check-up)

Good old Wexx is back with his fifth Community Survey. This one focuses on the six month check up of AoC. Seriously, we need to just start paying this man. Drop in and take the survey and join in on some of the discussion.

**HOW TO MAKE A CONSTRUCTIVE and HELPFUL POST/REPLY**

In light of many posts that have been turning up lately I figured this thread makes a good primer on how to make a constructive post and get your point across without sounding like a raving lunatic.

PvP XP Rollback

If you want a touchy topic look no further than this one. Funcom recently took action against several players who had been making use of an exploit in PvP that allowed them to gain PvP levels a lot faster than intended. This week Funcom dropped the hammer on those players by rolling back their PvP experience as stated by Funcom Senior Community Manager, Oliver 'Tarib' Kunz...

As you should all be aware we recently took action against those players that took advantage of a flaw in the PvP XP System.

We understand that many of you have questions about how this was done, and of course some of those affected have questions about why they were targeted.

Although we are unable to go into specific detail about the process, what we can say is that we used information gathered from our Database to identify those players that gained what was considered a "substantial" amount of PvP XP during the time frame where such a thing was possible. These cases we then investigated further. We have then taken what we consider to be appropriate action against those players by reducing their PvP Levels to what they were before it was possible to take advantage of this flaw and removing all PvP Gear.

Some of you might feel that you were unfairly targeted; if you are one of them then we simply ask that you write a mail to [email protected] with the name of the character that was affected and the server name on which it plays so that our Customer Support staff can begin our investigation into the matter. As always, you should receive your response within 24 hours. Should our staff find a flaw in the system we will take appropriate measures to ensure that your character will be restored to the former status.

This week Ten Ton Hammer Interviewed Funcom US Community Manager Glen 'Famine' Swan.

This week I decided to take a trip down memory lane and write an editorial about the past, present, and future of AoC. Through some witty humor I have put together a story of history, tragedy, sex and violence. Read up and tell me what you think in this thread. I promise you at least one good laugh.

How is Age of Conan now?

The AoC community will have a varying opinion on how the game is today, but you would be hard pressed to argue it was worse. AoC has improved a lot over recent months and our community has decided to chime in and add their views on the current status of AoC. Tell us what you think. Do you feel the game has improved greatly, mildly, or very little?

Imagine you are chosen to be the bell ringer for your schools football team. Your friends, family, classmates, and countless others watching from home have their eyes on you. The big moment arrives and you step up and ring the bell quickly and enthusiastically. Unfortunately, that isn't what it looks like to the rest of the world...

Ring the bell...WTF?!
