What do most people think of when they hear the words ‘Apple Watch?’ Fitness apps? Waterproof casing? Mickey Mouse watch hands? Well, we’re not most people, so when we think of the Apple Watch, we think of games! Regardless of whether you’ve got the original or Series 2, the little screen is not exactly the best format for countless hours of intense gaming (the battery will run out long before that), but this particular digital watch does have several awesome games that make perfect time-killers during your day.

Although with all its cool features and beautiful design, the Apple Watch still isn’t resonating with a large portion of watch lovers. Surprisingly, Apple’s timepiece doesn’t rank at all in online watch seller Chrono24’s list of most popular brands in 2016 – a surefire sign that it still has ways to go to convince some shoppers to choose digital over analog. It seems clear as day that the likes of Rolex and Omega are very difficult to topple in some circles. To be fair, Apple did give the luxury market a shot with their super expensive golden edition (over $10,000), but have since removed it from their website and instead put out a special edition watch made with ceramic. Yep, ceramic.

But enough about materials and prices, if you’re an Apple Watch owner, then you already love it and came here for the games, so that’s what you’re going to get. Below, we’ll list some cool titles that we think you’ll enjoy for your Apple Watch.

Lifeline

An astronaut stuck on some distant moon in outer space needs your help, and the only way to do that is to relay commands via your Apple Watch. Seems plausible? Maybe not, but Lifeline is still an entertaining game which requires a bit of quick thinking. The astronaut (Taylor) will give an update on his/her (gender is never revealed) situation and it’s your job to give instructions via one of two choices. The text-based adventure will pop up with notifications when you least suspect, as it’s played in real time. It’s not often that you have to save an astronaut’s life while cleaning your house…

Tamagotchi Classic

For anyone who grew up in the 90s, then you’re most likely aware of Tamagotchi. For those unaware, a Tamagotchi is basically a digital pet. You’ll raise them, feed them, clean up after them, and basically just make sure they stay alive. Although you might get bored of the little beeps coming from your watch after a while, it’s still enjoyable to revisit the classic game that took over the world way before Pokémon.

Field Day

Heard of FarmVille? Well, Field Day is basically that, but on an Apple Watch. You’ll plant crops, tend to your animals, hire employees, complete orders from customers, and essentially keep your farm tip-top. The controls might be a bit finicky at first, but after a while you’ll get the hang of things and find that Field Day is quite enjoyable. Plus, it has more replay value than most other time-killer games on the Apple Watch.

Letter Zap

Fortunately, Letter Zap requires more actual thinking than mindless tapping, as you’ve got 30 seconds to unjumble a bunch of letters to form a word. It starts off easily enough, but as you progress, expect the difficulty to ramp up – making you fret and sweat while trying to think of what the word is. There’s also the fun ‘Heartbeat’ mode, in which you’ve still got to find a word under the time restriction, but you have to keep your heart rate under a certain limit. A bit like the movie Speed, but with lower stakes.
