Though Myst Online: URU Live, the Sam & Max franchise, and other GameTap originals are still in the domain of the subscription-only service, gamers on a budget can enjoy many of the retro titles GameTap has to offer and shop in the new digital store.

ATLANTA – June 4, 2007 – Gamers who visit GameTap.com can now stay to play—for free. The first-of-its-kind broadband entertainment network from Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.) has launched a free-to-play, ad-supported service that is accessible to more players—expanding beyond North America to reach a global audience. GameTap also announced the debut of its digital store, featuring a large library of titles from vintage to brand new.
