Rise of the Immortals
This one slipped past everyone's radar. A company named New
Game World Inc. has issued a press release discussing the imminent
"Not-So-Closed" beta of their upcoming free-to-play MMOG, Immortals.
Based in ancient Chinese mythology, Immortals will feature four
playable races and encompass over 5,000 years of epic myths and
legends. Always providing for the reader, Ten Ton Hammer has snatched
up the press released and several released screenshots.
IRVINE, Calif.
– July 20, 2007 – New Game World,
Inc., a new online game publisher, announced today that the not so
closed beta for its Free to Play MMORPG Immortals is
now…well open.
“Immortals has been in stealth mode, up until
today,” said Steve Wade, Vice President of Marketing and
Development at New Game World, Inc. “ It’s not that
we didn’t want to generate buzz, we just thought it was best
cross all of our “T”s and dot all of our
“I”s with little hearts before making any kind of
announcement.”
Gamers who are interested in being part of the Not So Closed Beta which
is now live until July, when the “Open Beta”
officially starts should visit www.immortalsusa.com to sign up and
start playing.
Immortals has its roots in Ancient Chinese Mythology and this game
brings that ancient conflict to a whole new level with four races
divided into two warring factions. In the Not So Closed Beta, players
will have access to 4 fully customizable races: Demon, Dragon, Deity,
and Human. The game is filled with challenging quests, unique titles,
fame system, and even a pet system that players can start to raise and
ride their pets at level 20.
Each area has a unique feel and fabulous art. The deities fly and the
dragons live in an underwater realm. The action is awesome and world is
incredible. The struggle for the survival of each race is the challenge
facing every player. Whether chasing down and battling a mythological
beast for a rare item or leading your guild into a fierce battle
against an opposing force, one thing is certain, the battle will be
immortal.
