Previously, we discussed the basics of the Jade Dynasty pet system.
Like other MMOs, pets can join you in battle, maybe to give you that
extra edge. However, the advanced options to our pets elevates the Jade
Dynasty pet system to the next level.

Aside from taking your pet into battle, a pet can also craft for you.
To begin this process, you’ll need to collect the proper
materials. Your pet can do this for you!

Material gathering by your pet is called Foraging. There are six
different types of Foraging:

Farming:
collect plant and herb items

Woodwork:
collect wood items

Hunting:
collect animal items

Fishing:
collect fish items

Mining:
collect mining items

Treasure:
collect treasure items

To Forage, a pet will need to be at least level 30. To set your pet to
forage, select the first button on the right in the pet menu (access by
pressing ‘p’). The default setting will be set to
combat,
however, simply click this button to open up the menu and change to the
appropriate task for your pet. A pet’s Foraging ability will
also
depend on its level—the higher leveled a pet, the better
level
materials it can collect for you.

The
pet level to material level is:

A level 30-70
pet will gather level 1 materials

A level 71-100
will gather level 2 materials

A level 101-120
will gather level 3 materials

A level 121-135
will gather level 4 materials

A level 136-145
will gather level 5 materials

A level 146-150
will gather level 6 materials

Each pet will have a different adeptness for a certain type of
crafting. This is represented by agreen bar within a pet’s
craft
status.  A pet with a Woodworking score of 15/100 will have a
more
successful Foraging attempt for a wood item than a Fishing score of
1/100 for a fishing item. Once you have acquired multiple pets, you
will be able to send the most adept for each Foraging job. When your
pet is set to Foraging, he will not be summoned and accompanying
you—you cannot have a pet both Forage and aid you in combat
at
the same time.

Once your pet has collected the materials you desire, you can have your
pet craft for you. This is accessible from the Workshop button in the
pet menu. Your pet must be level 60 to craft. For a Pet to craft items
it will require the recipe of that item—a pet cannot use a
player
recipe. Most of the pet crafting recipes are gear or consumables.

As a pet grows, their classes can be upgraded for combat and crafting.
All pets default onto the first combat class, Brute. Selecting and
upgrading a pet’s class will give the pet extra bonuses. Any
pet
class can be upgraded with civility points, which is gained by treating
your pet well—keeping his belly and health bar full.
