Mists
of Pandaria Beta
Krasarang Wilds Zone Walkthrough - Part 2

The Krasarang Wilds is the second zone that most players visit in the Mists of Pandaria expansion. This zone is meant for players level 86 through about level 88 and you are lead here even earlier than that as some of the first quests in the Valley of the Four Winds will have quests that involve characters here. However, if you have been following our walkthroughs we purposely did not follow those quests until this point.

We have now started following the quests in Krasarang Wilds and have learned a lot about the area already. However we are just about to learn a lot more about the Sha and about the Horde and Alliance groups that have come to Pandaria. In this part of the guide we move west through the zone before turning back north to find the Hidden Master in the Valley of the Four Winds guide - part 4.

Quest Hub - Thunder Cleft

This are is still on the way to the Red Crane temple, but is a stop over for the Horde players. There is an equivalent Alliance quest area nearby, but this guide follows the Horde path. This is where you will find Sunwalker Dezco to turn in the Poisoned quest that you got in the last section of this guide.

Kor Bloodtusks is a Horde soldier that does not believe in patience or peace, and as such is extremely worried about Alliance nearby and the Sunwalker faction of the Horde not attacking.

He therefore wants you to seek out and get rid of the Alliance scout to the south.

Sunwalker Dezco's wife Leza is in trouble, she is pregnant, near labour, and has a fever. Kang knows a recipe that should help called skitter stew. He wants you to hunt down the water skitters on the lake nearby. Kill enough to collect 5 intact skitter glands and then return to Kang.

The Mogu nearby normally do not gather in numbers like they are right now. Kang wants you to go to the ruins south of camp and find out what is going on. Look for someone in charge and get their orders from them.

You will find the Dojan Dominator at the top of the ruins, slay him to find the orders.

Kor has less patience than Kang for the Mogu and wants you to visit the ruins to kill several of them to find out thier strengths and weaknesses.

While in the ruins looking for the orders for the Mogu Agenda quest kill of 6 Reclaimers, 8 Surveyors, and 4 Enforcers.

style="text-align: center;">

The remedy that Kang made for Dezco's wife is not working. Desco wants to try something else and would like your help gathering 20 imperial lotus leaves from the ruins to the south.

Find these while completing the other two quests at the ruins and return to him.

Once you get the Dojan orders Kang reads them and finds that the Mogu have found the pool of youth. He will come with you to find the pools which are at the northwest corner of the ruins.

Be warned though, from what Kang knows the pools are cursed. You will have to help the water spirit there fight off four guardians and then it will leave you a water sample that completes the quest.

Leza's baby is coming soon and Sunwalker Dezco is anxious to be with her. Stand guard outside for him so that he can attend the birth.

This quest involves watching an in game cut scene that plays out the event, when it is done the quest ends.

I won't ruin the storyline so you can watch it yourself.

The group is heading further west into the jungle and Kor has gone on ahead to scout the Crane Temple.

Sunwalker Dezco asks you to go ahead of the main group and find the scouting group and lend a hand if you can. The scout can be found west of camp.

This ends the Thundercleft quest hub and you get an achievement to prove it.

Krasarang River / Crane Wing Refuge / Red Crane Temple

This little area on the way to meet Dezco is where you will finally meet up with Koro Mistwalker for the Into the Wilds quest that you initially headed west for. This area is really the Crane Wing Refuge quest hub but starts where you find Koro along the riverbank and have to escort him in.

Crane Wing Refuge
style="text-align: center;">

You have finally found Koro but there are issues. He needs help getting refuges from the Red Crane Temple to the Crean Wing Refuge nearby.

This is an escort quest where you must follow the group and fight off several attacks before making it to the Crane Wing Refuge.

There is even a part of the quest that pokes fun at the Skyrim phrase "I took an arrow to the knee", a bit of cross game humour.

The area is swarming with Saurok raiders and Koro would like you to help blind thier main raiding group by killing off thier scouts.

Find and kill at least 8 Riverblade Pathstalkers around the Crane Wing Refuge.

The jokes about old asian movies and proverbs continue unabated through these quest chains. This time with the statement that "The way is rife with danger - tread lightly, and with scrutiny." Koro then hands you a big stick called scrutiny.

Your task is to go and use the big stick to set off traps in the area from a safe distance. Find and set off 10 traps before returning to Koro.

You find an unlikely ally here at the refuge, especially being a member of the horde, the prince of Stormwind is looking to lend a hand.

He needs venom from the murkscale striker snakes in the Krasarang river to make anti-venom for the refuges that were bit while fleeing. Kill enough snakes to gather 6 heads before returning. The snakes will not leave the water so you have to jump on it.

This quest starts with another really bad pun or a proverb: "She who mends torn umbrella will be more dry than she who strikes at rain."

Koro wants you to strike at the source of the issue and take our the Maws of Despair at each of the two pagodas at the Temple of the Red Crane.

They can be found in each of the eastern and western pagodas, right at the top.

As well as striking at the source, Koro says sometimes it is just as fun to strike at the rain. Therefore he would like you to take out at least 18 of the Haunts of Despair at the Temple of the Red Crane.

There are several different kinds ranging from small easy to kill, to medium difficult to kill, to darn right dangerous elites. Make sure you pick on ones you can deal with, and kill them near the objectives of the next quest.

Anduin wants your help getting the Monks and Acolytes of the Temple to fight back. They have been overwhelmed with by the Sha of Despair.

He wants you to inspire them by killing haunts of despair by them. Complete this quest at the same time as the previous "Striking the Rain" quest by draging the haunts near the monks or acolytes. When the sha dies you will flash inspiration around yourself and if a monk is in range they will be inspired.

Having defeated the minions of the Sha of Despair Anduin feels it is time to venture into the Temple of the Red Crane and confront the Sha of Despair itself.

You can find the Sha of Despair in the basement of the temple. Be warned it is a difficult fight to solo, and while it can be done it might be easier to find someone else on the same quest.

Quest
Hub - Dawnchaser Retreat

This is where you meet up with Kor Bloodtusk again. Thier group has been attacked though and he once again needs your assistance. The Alliance have a similar base in the area for Alliance players to quest from.

The scouting group has been attacked and Kor has had to fall back after the attack. He wants you to find and rescue 8 dawnchaser captives from the Mogu.

This quest gets interesting as it really starts to show the war brewing between the factions. There are Alliance prisoners as well as Horde but you are instructed to leave them. In fact if you rescue them they will turn hostile.

style="text-align: center;">

While rescuing captured Horde members Kor also needs you to take our some of the Mogu. There are some powerful summoners called Korjani Reclaimers in the area that need to be taken out to cut the Mogu supply line. Find and kill at least 8 of them.

Kang is worried about the Mogu getting ahold of powerful magic once again, as they have not had it since ancient times. He needs you to recover 10 Mogu artifacts from the area. You will find these while completing the previous two quests.

style="text-align: center;">

At the camp you now find a Pandaren Ambassador name Han. He informs you of a Mantid attack that hit his convoy and is on it's way to hit Stoneplow in the Valley of the Four Winds.

He wants you to destroy 10 Ik'thik Precursors and then find his cousin Len at the remains of the convoy.

Quest
Hub - The Shattered Convoy

Here we catch up with Sunwalker Dezco and the convoy once again. They have been attacked by the mantid and are in need of assistance again.

The convoy has been attacked and many of the civilians in the convoy are in the jungle wounded. Dezco gives you some Imperial Lotus Poultice to help save them. Find and save 7 of the Stoneplow Envoys around the convoy.

style="text-align: center;">

Kor has been taken captive and Dezco needs your help to save him. However once you get there it is too late.

Help Sunwalker Dezco defeat the Mogu responsible and then meet him back at the retreat.

You also learn a little more about Dezco here as he has more tolerance of the Alliance and lets one of them go, compared to Kor who would not have. Back at the retreat you learn that Kor was like a brother to Dezco despite their differences.

At this point having found all of the clues regarding the Hidden Master and learning that Stoneplow is under attack back in the Valley of the Four Winds, it's time to head back to that zone and finish up some additional questing there (assuming you haven't done it all already).
