Matt Firor is a fixture on the advisory board for GDC (Game Developers Conference) Austin and responsible for overseeing the production track submissions for this year's conference. Ten Ton Hammer got the chance to catch up to Matt before the beginning of GDC Austin this year to get his views on the GDC Austin, MMOGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Games), and where he thinks the industry is heading.
I think people are definitely willing to try out new games especially if the investment in seeing if the game is fun is not that big, which is why a lot of people try out the browser-based MMOs, the downloadable ones, and the free-to-play ones. The Aion beta is certainly full of people. Theres a hunger out there for new experiences.
