The speculation of a Neverwinter Nights MMORPG is nothing new, but for the most part everything has been pure speculation and there has been no solid confirmation about the popular Neverwinter Nights franchise getting its own MMORPG. But a few things have happened of late that might help support that conspiracy theorist in all of us.

We know Cryptic has a new MMOG that they have been working on and should be revealing this summer. Bill Roper even confirmed that it was a game and franchise that they (Cryptic) were very excited about. While he didn't reveal anything about the game it left a lot for people to speculate on. Recently, Superannuation did a little digging and discovered that Atari had purchased several domain names that include: visitneverwinter.com, playneverwinter.com, saveneverwinter.com, play-neverwinter.com, and several others.

Given Cryptic’s ties with Atari this could mean a possible Neverwinter Nights MMORPG reveal or it could be just prep for another single player game or just Atari securing domain names for future use. Time will tell, but with any luck we'll be getting details from Cryptic soon on their next project. Until then, it all remains speculation and rumor.
