We've all had our concerns that NetDevil's space-based MMOG, Jumpgate Evolution might not make it to market after its countless delays and even a lawsuit from publisher Codemasters last December. But things have apparently just taken a turn for the worse at the developer and could even impact their other title, LEGO Universe. Eurogamer picked up the news earlier this morning by way of former animator Toby Cochran's blog, who posted a blog explaining that several of the NetDevil team has been released and that only a handful of artists will be kept on to continue work on LEGO Universe.

From what we've been told a handful of artists will be kept on board and continue working on Lego Universe. But at the moment that will be a very, VERY small team. As the count continues to rise on FB, they've cut over 20 people.

NetDevil has yet to confirm the layoffs, but several of the reported affected members have reportedly posted tombstones with R.I.P. NetDevil to their Facebook pages. Stay tuned and we'll update you when we have more.
