Try a Little TLC (Trivial
Loot Code, That Is)

How about a little TLC in your gaming experience? Brad McQuaid, CEO of
Sigil Games Online, has commented that Sigil will experiment with a
trivial loot code in the beta for their upcoming game, Vanguard: Saga
of Heroes. Does TLC place needless and illogical restrictions on
players; or does it do more good than harm by promoting risk vs. reward
gameplay and thwarting gold farmers?

One of the central themes of the Vanguard Vision is
Risk vs. Reward. To get good rewards one must risk quite a lot.
Allowing players to get good rewards because they are high level, or
have high level friends, ruins the idea of risk vs. reward. It lowers
the value of sought after items and essentially cheapens the
accomplishment of the players who gain the rewards by playing the game
as the developers intended.

How do you feel about the potential for TLC in Vangaurd?
