With Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns releasing in October, I've been thinking a lot lately about what my favourite memory is from the time I've spent in the game. I've found choosing one favourite surprisingly difficult so have decided on two, instead.

The first is when I first played Guild Wars 2 during an early closed Beta event and participated in World versus World for the first time. As someone who adores Dark Age of Camelot's Realm versus Realm combat, there was giddy anticipation when I first arrived in the Eternal Battlegrounds. I was in a group with Tirzah Bauer and Jon Peters on my level 10 mesmer. At the time and because most people were boosted, my beginner status made no difference. I didn't even know where to begin and repeatedly found myself running into a huge group of enemy players before frantically running back to a nearby keep. I had a huge grin on my face for the entire evening as my party and I fought back and forth with the opposition, - for that moment - it perectly captured the magic of Dark Age of Camelot.

A close second to my first venture into World versus World is the Karka event. I know many had issues with lag or the Karka failing to load or even the client crashing (repeatedly), but for all the technical issues surrounding the event, I still have very fond memories of it. Waiting in Lion's Arch to see what would surface, to then witness a huge Karka scaling the cliff side was incredibly exciting. It had been such a long time since I'd seen an event in an MMO outside an instance, that the game world suddenly felt very much alive. For the Karka event to then spill over to Southsun Cove and to have me and my guild work our way into the nest was undeniably epic. I suppose it also helps that I managed to bag a precursor when we slayed the queen.

Now that I've shared my favorite memories, do you have one (or more!) memories that stands out? Let me know.
