Folks – if you haven’t done it yet – make sure you get a chance to try out Lord of the Rings Online during the game’s open beta test/World Tour. Tomorrow is the beginning of the true public open beta, where anyone who hasn’t pre-ordered is able to jump in the game and play.

For those of you who have pre-ordered the game, when LotRO goes gold you’ll get the chance to pull your character straight from open beta into the game world, giving you a headstart on all those individuals who hold off on their pre-order purchases. Pre-order customers will also get to be a part of the “Founders” program and be privilege to lowered subscription rates. Even if you don’t plan on pre-ordering make sure you check out the game. We’ve got ads scattered all over the main site, and they’re pretty hard to miss.

Since we’re in the LotRO vein, I’d like to point you in the direction of two new articles that are currently running on our community and main site.

First off, we have the LotRO Hands-On Preview Part Two. This article, concocted by yours truly, takes an in-depth, first person perspective and looks at my first few experiences in the world of Middle Earth. With tons of pictures and lots opinions, I’m sure you’ll find it an enjoyable read.

The second article that is running today is by one of our newest staff members, JP “AgonThalia” Sherman, who explores what it takes to be a member of the Hunter class in LotRO. From character creation to in-game strategies, this guide is perfect for anyone who wants to play this versatile class.
