We’re approaching the one-year anniversary of City of Heroes cancellation. Despite a gallant effort by fans to save the doomed superhero MMORPG, the heroes of Paragon City fell and the servers went dark. But some heroes when struck down rise once again. And in this case, they did.

After the cancellation of City of Heroes, a dedicated group of fans founded Missing Worlds Media and began work on what became known as The Phoenix Project, a spiritual successor to City of Heroes. That concept grew to become City of Titans, and this week that hopeful MMOG has launched its Kickstarter campaign with the goal of raising $320,000 over the next 32 days to help fund the remaining development. Less than a day in, the project has already raised nearly 30% of its goal.
