t was the best of times, it was the worst of times when experiencing the various zones offered up in the Warlords of Draenor expansion. There were plenty of zones people wanted to play over and over again and the zones that players could care less if they ever ventured through again. Like many expansions, it seems fans of the game are pretty much in agreement on which zones are the best and which are the worst.

After playing through the zones in all their glory (or lack thereof) myself and checking out the thoughts of other players, I have put together my own list of the best and worst zones in this expansion pack based on both aesthetics and story line. Which zones are the the bees knees and which are the total pits? Read onward to find out and see if your list matches up!

Best Zones of Warlords Draenor

Frostfire Ridge

Frostfire Ridge is a stark frozen wasteland that has a wild beauty that cannot be denied. Even if it was not that nice to look at, Frostfire Ridge could easily still make the best list by having one of the most compelling and interesting story lines in this expansion. This zone made us laugh and made us shed more than a few tears. Besides the main story line, Frostfire has a host of side quests that will keep you busy and interested in this zone for a long time. The only downfall of this zone? It gets a bit tiresome for Horde players who spend most of their time here thanks to their Garrison location.

Spires of Arak

The Spires of Arak could have easily made the Worst list. It is not a particularly easy zone to navigate, however, it isn't headache inducing. The zone probably also doesn't rank that high in beauty. Definitely not the most fantastically visually appealing zone we have seen, nor was it the worst. What skyrockets Spires of Arak into the best list is the story.

Right when you walk into the zone you see streams of Arakkoa pouring out and you can almost feel the devastation. Then in Skyreach you see the laser shoot into the forest. This zone, which follows the Arakkoa, draws you in and won't let you go until you leave it behind. Even when all the quest are complete you find yourself wanting more.

Worst Zones of Warlords of Draenor

Gorgrond

If you are like me, you had big hopes for Gorgrond. The lead in to this zone for both factions is pretty fantastic. Not to mention the visuals. This zone is primitive and wild, with huge creatures battling right alongside the road. This zone had serious potential, but it still managed to fall short. After the lead up into the zone, the story falls flat. To make things worse, the zone design is pretty horrible.

With invisible walls, holes that players cannot get out of, and a confusing layout, Gorgrond as a zone is an absolute nightmare. This zones is just as bad, if not worse than, as the original Blade's Edge Mountains. Without a doubt, this is one of those zones that I think many of us hope to never have to set foot in again.

Talador

What could be worse than a zone that you struggle to get through? A zone that you can't even remember. Such is the case with Talador. While the story line here had the potential to be big and the scenery is nothing to thumb your nose at, it somehow manages to fail utterly at both. No quest, no story line, no area stands out in my memory. I know I played through this zone, but I remember nothing about it.

That wraps up our list for the best and worst zones in Warlords of Draenor. Which zones did you love and hate in this expansion pack?
