What The Elder Scrolls Online Offers Skyrim and MMORPG Fans

Posted Mon, May 14, 2012 by Martuk

Game Informer Magazine’s detailed article on The Elder Scrolls Online served up some useful tidbits about what the developers at Zenimax Online Studios is working on for their MMORPG incarnation of the popular RPG series, but Game Informer has put together a new article on its website that lays out just what the game will offer fans of the RPG series and of the MMORPG genre, and how it will set itself apart from the pack of growing MMORPGs.

For older fans of The Elder Scrolls series, The Elder Scrolls Online will offer the chance to explore some areas that have only been read about in lore. But for those that have played all the way back to the first game, it also offers a chance to experience older lands in a newer engine along with the chance to explore the open world setting and find random adventures that has made the series so popular.

The Elder Scrolls Online

For MMORPG fans there are a few things that the devs are doing to inspire working together. One of those things includes no mob tagging, something that is a constant point of contention in many MMORPGs. Sometimes a person comes along and kill steals your mob, maybe intentionally or inadvertently while trying to help. In The Elder Scrolls Online, a person that comes along and lends a hand will not only help you out, but both of you will get full credit for the kill.

The article runs down a checklist of several items that players of various games like World of Warcraft and Star Wars: The Old Republic and RIFT may find enticing such as non-instanced PvP, familiar combat, fully voiced story, dynamic, large-group combat, public events and more. Head over to Game Informer and read the full story for more.
