EverQuest II

  • Spell tiers, not to be confused with spell tears.
Our very own EverQuest 2 community site has posted a comparison guide to spell tiers for the Mystic class. We cried. We laughed and then we noticed that they probably wrote this:

"The Mystic Guide now has Spell Tier comparisons. Jimbob finally used some of that extra energy to get me the spell numbers from his own list."

  • It's your heritage. You owe it to yourself to learn about it.
Our very own EverQuest 2 community site has updated their already comprehensive Heritage Quest Guide. We traced back through the family tree to find this:

"Heritage quests have the combined benefit of providing some very nice items (which hearken back to EQ live- hence the name) and massive jolts of status points for yourself and possibly your guild. They are very involved, and usually very long. The good news is, they're usually worth it for the items alone and are great team-building activities for your guild."

  • Add-ons and expansions.
Scott Hartsman of Sony Online Entertainment has posted his June Producer's Letter on EverQuest 2. It was a long article, but we read at least the first few lines and are confident that he might have written this:

"There's been a lot of focus lately on Desert of Flames, our first major expansion to the game due out this fall. While we're extremely excited about this first expansion, I wanted to take some time to talk about a few things that will also be coming up for EverQuest II."

  • I need access and I need it now, well about two months ago.
Our very own EverQuest 2 community team have updated the Access Quests Guide. It's only a rumour that they wrote this:

"Access Quest Compendium Access quests allow you toenter certain "keyed" areas of Norrath. Some are more or less necessary to progress in level (Enchanted Lands and Zek access, for two), others are necessary to complete heritage quests, while still others are more or less avoidable unless your friends are begging you to join them."

  • Enemy Mastery gets a second look.
Sony Online Entertainment has posted Part II of their EverQuest 2 Enemy Mastery Quests article. We're pretty sure that they wrote this:

"Lore and Legend quests, also known as Enemy Mastery quests, involve the study of various creatures to learn more about them. In order to gain knowledge about these creatures, you must find and study various body parts. You can find suitable body parts for your studies by killing the type of creature you wish to learn more about. Find out more about these types of quests."

  • More patches than Planter's has peanuts.
Sony Online Entertainment has posted the latest and greatest EverQuest 2 patch notes. It is somewhat probable that they wrote this:

"Strange objects are appearing along with these new gnolls. It is unknown at this time what link these objects have with the alleged abductions, but witnesses claim these objects move from place to place."

  • Pre-order Gnolls.
The next Everquest 2 Adventure Pack is now available for pre-order. The Splitpaw Saga is scheduled to launch on June 28th at a price of $7.99. The press release looks strangely like this:

"SAN DIEGO, CA – June 9, 2005 – Sony Online Entertainment Inc. (SOE), a worldwide leader in massively multiplayer online (MMO) gaming, today announced that The Splitpaw Saga is now available for pre-order at www.splitpawsaga.com. The Splitpaw Saga is the second Adventure Pack for EverQuest II, the follow-up to Sony Online Entertainment's original EverQuest, the longest-running 3D MMO role-playing game in North America. The Splitpaw Saga is scheduled for launch on June 28, 2005 for $7.99, with in-game pre-order events starting today.
"We enjoy making sure that EverQuest II is chock-full of new content all the time," said Sr. Producer Scott Hartsman. "In addition to our regular live updates and expansion packs, adventure packs like The Splitpaw Saga let us bring story-rich content to lots of players for a really low price. We also have a lot of fun creating the in-game events, in connection with adventure packs, that lead up to the release of the full content."
By pre-ordering The Splitpaw Saga, players will gain access to a special instanced zone and earn rewards before the adventure begins. At launch, players will explore the collapsed caverns and twisted tunnels of Sundered Splitpaw. Throughout this adventure, the truth behind the dungeon's mysterious demise is uncovered by using moveable planks, crates and barrels to work through a series of 12 intriguing event-based zones. A ferocious clan of cannibalistic gnolls will stand in the way as players seek to destroy the greatest threat yet in Norrath's history of late. New and veteran players alike can experience the adventure meeting fresh challenges as they progress and try again as the encounters scale dynamically to match the player's level.
The Splitpaw Saga adventure pack has an exciting storyline and plenty of action that solo players, groups, and raids can enjoy for months to come. For more information, please visit www.splitpawsaga.com."
