The option for unified or separate friends lists are the topic of the latest EverQuest Next Roundtable video featuring Senior Brand Manager Omeed Dariani and Senior Producer Terry Michaels. The topic of this week’s discussion is about convenience versus privacy when it comes to your in-game friends list. Recent games such as Guild Wars 2 unifies the player’s friends list, completely removing the option to log in and play as an anonymous alt to get some along time, play with other friends, or just avoid massive in-game tell bombardments for a little while as to where previous games such as EverQuest and EverQuest II allowed players to create characters not bound by one unified name and instantly added to your friends list, allowing you to keep those private characters for those times when you just want to play a while and have a little getaway time.

What do you prefer? Do you like having all of your characters bound to a unified name that shows up on all of your friend’s lists, or do you prefer to keep your characters separate in case you want a little alone time? Check out the video below and tell us what you think.
