CCP is expanding into the eastern market and they're using free-to-play publisher Nexon to do it. According to a recent press release on the EVE Online website, CCP has partnered with Nexon to localize EVE Online services in Japan. Nexon will also be handling Japan localization for the Playstation 3 exclusive DUST 514, which is tentatively scheduled to release in summer 2012.

“We are pleased to have this opportunity to be a part of CCP’s ongoing plans to provide premium services to their subscribers,” said Seung-Woo Choi, Nexon Co., Ltd. “Our shared commitment to quality and excellence is the ultimate cornerstone from which to build an even greater gaming experience for Japanese video game enthusiasts.”

Unlike the Chinese release with its own server, Serenity, the Japanese release will connect to EVE's Tranquility server, which currently plays host to more than 350,000 players. EVE's Chinese launch set a new peak concurrent user record for the game. Can they do it once again when with Japanese localization?

The localized PC release for Japan is scheduled for later this year and will utilize Nexon's billing system and regional marketing. Localization for DUST 514 will follow after the game's launch next year.
