Are you the owner of so many extra Garrison Resources that you are contemplating swimming in them like Scrooge McDuck? You are not alone! At this point in the Warlords of Draenor expansion, it is no longer a question of collecting Resources for most, but rather what to do with all the excess. This is especially true if you already have your Garrison upgrade to the maximum level. Now instead of spending large amounts of them at one time you find that they just keep building up.

Instead of just sitting on these extra Garrison Resources and allowing them to build up, why not spend them in a beneficial way instead? Not sure how or what there is to spend them on? Here are five suggestions on gainful ways that you can spend your excess Garrison Resources put together especially for you.

Additional Resources

No we are not talking about trading Garrison Resources for more Garrison Resources. That would be downright silly! The resources we are speaking of here are those that players would traditionally use for professions such as herbs, ore, and even skins.

In order to take advantage of this, you will need to have a Level 1 Trading Post installed into your Garrison. Here you will find a vendor that will trade all of these items for Garrison Resources. This is especially handy if you have alts looking to level professions. The best part? This trade is available constantly, meaning you take advantage of this trade as often as you choose.

War Mill Work Orders

For players who want to improve their Followers, the War Mill is a great place to use some Garrison Resources. Work Orders for your War Mill open when it reaches Level 2. These Work Orders take 20 Garrison Resources to complete and contain armor and weapon upgrades to improve your Followers item level. Players will also have the chance to earn Iron Horde Scraps from War Mill Work Orders which can be traded in for Armor Enhancement Tokens, Weapon Enhancement Tokens, or a plethora of gear that can be used for Transmogrification.

Bonus Rolls

Get a chance at extra loot in Highmaul and Blackrock Foundry by choosing to spend your Garrison Resources on Seals of Tempered Fate. These extra seals can be purchased from the NPCs Fate-Twister Seress (Alliance) or Fate-Twister Tiklal (Horde). Both NPCs can be found inside your faction's capital city hubs of Stormshield or Warspear in Ashran.

Each NPC will offer up four ways to earn Seals of Tempered Fate. One of these ways is to purchase one using Garrison Resources. You may earn 3 Seals of Tempered Fate per week and may purchase them all using Garrison Resources if you so choose. However, there is a small catch. The cost per Seal increases each time you repeat a quest that uses the same currency. Thus your initial Seal for the week will cost only 300 Garrison Resources but the next will go up in price to 600 and finally 1200.

Rush Orders

If you are swimming in Garrison Resources why not use them to speed up your Garrison Work Orders. Added in content Patch 6.1, Rush Orders can be purchased from Sergeant Crowler (Alliance) or Sergeant Grimjaw (Horde) found inside your Garrison. Rush Orders will cost you anywhere from 300 Garrison Resources to 1,000 Garrison Resources and are available for various specific buildings inside your Garrison. When used, the Rush Order will instantly complete 5 active work orders.

The following Rush Orders are available for purchase:

  • Rush Order: Barn
  • Rush Order: Gladiator's Sanctum
  • Rush Order: War Mill
  • Rush Order: Dwarven Bunker
  • Rush Order: Garden Shipment
  • Rush Order: Goblin Workshop
  • Rush Order: Gnomish Gearworks
  • Rush Order: Mine Shipment

Loot Bags

If you are looking to earn some instant gold, Smuggled Sacks of Gold are exactly the item you will want to spend your Garrison Resources on. This item can be purchased from any vendor found inside your Level 1 or higher Trading Post for 50 Garrison Resources. Upon opening, each bag will contain anywhere from 10-20 gold.

While this doesn't seem like a lot of gold, it can add up and it is straight up gold instead of an item you need to sell or trade. Another bonus; this gold counts towards the Got My Mind on My Draenor Money achievement, for those players looking to open up the Storehouse Level 3. Finally, since the loot bag also requires the Trading Post to be active, you may choose to rotate between purchasing Smuggled Sacks of Gold or the ore, herbs, or skins mentioned earlier in this post and also available from this Garrison building.
