It's inevitable that patch notes will make some players very happy, while others will mourn what has befallen their favorite Heroes. Let's break down the Heroes that saw the biggest climb in win rates, as well as those that have fallen the hardest, from the last patch in Heroes of the Storm.

Biggest losers

Brightwing (-7.8%)

The complete re-design of Brightwing has so far not done many favors to the faerie dragon. She still has heals and mobility, but the new kit is currently not performing well, with a 48.8% win rate. However, judgment should be reserved for now, as players may just need time to adjust.

Anub’arak (-6.0%)

Nerfs to the beetles’ speed and damage, as well as lowering the damage on Locust Swarm, has caused some big problems for Anub players. However, the stats would suggest it might be putting this Hero in a healthier spot, since the win rate is still at a fairly high 53.7%.

The Lost Vikings (-4.5%)

It was almost considered common knowledge that the Vikings were going to be nerfed, with how over-powered many players believed them to be. With that said, TLV received a lot of changes; some were nerfs, while others were simply shifting their power around to have a healthier play style. It seems to be effective so far, with their win rate still at 53.7%, meaning they’re still among the most successful Heroes out there.

Biggest winners

Malfurion (+4.7%)

Malfurion was considered by some to be under-powered before, but a significant overhaul of his talent tree seems to have benefited him considerably. His lane presence isn’t as weak as it used to be, and a slightly stronger heal, cleanse, and mana cost reductions have made this Druid one of the game’s better supports. A 50.8% win rate after the changes suggest this was a good patch for him.

Stitches (+3.7%): Stitches didn’t receive sweeping changes, but mana cost reductions on Slam and Devour, as well as a shorter cooldown on Devour, really seem to have helped. With that said, he still isn’t performing well overall, only carrying a 42.1% win rate currently. These changes were an improvement, but right now it seems he might need more assistance.

Jaina (+2.1%)

We’ve stuck with just win percentage changes up until this point, but I’m making an exception for Jaina. Losing Sprint was not the problem some thought it might be, as she’s currently shot up to have the highest winning percentage in the game, at 55.3%. It seems forcing players to re-evaluate their talent choices without Sprint has been a good thing, and being able to re-target Water Elemental after Jaina is killed was huge. One has to wonder if some nerfs might be incoming next patch if this trend remains, but for right now, Jaina players should be very happy.
