Final Fantasy XIV 1.19 Update Delayed, New Ifrit Teaser Revealed

Posted Tue, Sep 27, 2011 by Martuk

Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) Producer Naoki Yoshida dropped in to post a new Producer’s Letter today and announced that the upcoming 1.19 update has been delayed until October 4th to allow a bit more testing. Patch notes for the update will be posted on September 30th, but one thing we do know will be included is that players will get the chance to take the fight to one of the iconic Final Fantasy series creatures, Ifrit.

As part of his apology for the delay, Yoshida posted a new teaser video of the fiery creature. Anyone that has previously played the Final Fantasy games will recognize the name Ifrit immediately and the new video offers a look at the hellish beasts new incarnation.

Yoshida also promised to share some new details about the game’s upcoming one-year anniversary event in his next letter. In the meantime, check out the video teaser embed of Ifrit after the break.
