Fuel up your jetpacks and pack some extra ammo. Red 5 Studios is headed to gamescom and they’re looking for a few good players to take part in the first European eSports tournament for Firefall. Red 5 Studios has announced that it has teamed with the Electronic Sports League Arena (ESL) to hold the tournament at this year’s gamescom event with 10,000 Euro in prize money (roughly around $12,369 USD) on the line. Registration for the tournament will open on August 16th at the ESL Arena gaming stage. The tournament qualifier rounds will begin the same day and continue through the duration of gamescom with the finals scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 18th.

“Firefall is a highly anticipated title and set to make an impact on the eSports community”, tells Sebastian Weishaar, Vice President International Business at Turtle Entertainment, the operator and organizer of ESL. “The beta is really gaining momentum, and to be able to offer this tournament to our audience as a first is just great for everyone involved.”

“We are committed to providing the competitive gaming community with an unprecedented eSports experience in Firefall. The ESL is the destination for eSports, so our partnership in this tournament will help prove our vision to the hundreds of thousands visiting Gamescom and the millions following online” said Mark Kern, CEO/CCO of Red 5 Studios.

The tournament will be broadcasted live from www.esl.tv for those unable to attend the event. Additional details for the tournament are available on the Firefall website.
