So What's It Going to
Take?

As
Game Update #4 gets closer to becoming a reality, players are getting
excited about the possibilities of having their very own flying mount.
Silius has also let slip in href="http://forums.station.sony.com/vg/posts/list.m?start=60&topic_id=26176&#303557">this
thread that he eventually wanted to have a dragon and
manticore as other choices for a flying mount. If you
don't understand a term
or abbreviation I use here, please check our href="http://vanguard.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&file=index&func=display&ceid=135&meid=109">Game
Terms 101.

According to the numbers of one of our href="http://vanguard.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=871">previous
polls, it also appears that the wyvern is currently in the
lead for winning the Most Desired Permanent Flying Mount. As a
necromancer that chose lich for my undead form, I really can't wait to
get a hold of one of these myself.

Even though it has been stated by both Silius and PhAtHoM that the
amount of monetary cost for any of the mounts has been decided yet,
that doesn't stop players from going on various debates about it. Some
players seem to feel that everyone should be able to have a flying
mount in their early levels, while others state that flying mounts
should only be owned by the very elite. So the question for this week's
poll is...
style="font-weight: bold;">

What should it take to obtain a permanent flying mount?

An extremely long quest, but little money

There are a number of players that feel the flying mount should be an
item to be strived for through hard work and a lot of time invested.
Making the quest extremely long might have the effect of keeping the
skies from feeling cluttered. They also feel that if you go through
this amount of pain and suffering for a flying mount that you shouldn't
also be penalized by having to come up with a large amount of cash for
the effort.

An extremely long quest and a lot of money

This choice is for those that think the quest both the length of the
quest and the amount of money required for the flying mount should be
extremely high. They feel the mounts should only be owned by the truly
elite. If you don't have the time of the money, tough cookies.

A large amount of money, but a reasonably short quest

This is a choice mentioned in multiple threads on the official forums
that would seem to favor the crafters of Vanguard. While they do have a
legitimate concern since they may be a level 50 crafter, but only a
level 4 adventurer, this choice would put a number of adventurers at a
distinct disadvantage. Another concern voiced on the forums is that
this would do nothing more than promote buying gold from various online
vendors.

They should just give those players that have been here since
release one as a loyalty reward

Believe it or not, this is a statement I've heard more than once
throughout the past few months. There are a number of players that feel
SOE should give them a permanent flying mount as a sign of appreciation
that they have stuck with the game through thick and thin since its
release.

Now it's your turn
to let us know what you think!
