With the recent influx of new players to the servers recently, what
better set of quests to do guides for than the popular Hunter's League?
The Hunter's League quests are not only a great opportunity to get some
good grouping skills down in your late teens and early 20's, but they
also offer a very impressive set of armor and weapon of choice, all of
which is tailor made for each class! Enough jaw jacking though, let's
get to the guides!

The first quest in the Hunter's League series begins with a gentleman
by the name of Neneler Jabifa. Fortunately for you, he has to be one of
the most conveniently placed quest holders in the entire game. Simply
locate your closest riftway, and take a trip over to the Skrilien Point
riftway (northwest tip of Qalia), and the turn to the east. Yep, that's
him standing right there just waiting to greet you. If only the meat of
each quest were that easy, you'd have it made!

Neneler is more than willing to greet you with open arms as a new
member of the Hunter's League, but to get the full title (not to
mention that full suit of armor and weapon), you're going to need to
complete a few tasks for him. The Hunter's League needs a continual
supply of Living Flames and Vials of Corruption. As a new recruit, take
a wild guess whom this task falls to? You guessed it, so rather than
standing around twiddling your thumbs, it's time to get some work done.

Fortunately, both items are located relatively close to Neneler. That's
the good news. The not-so-good news is how you need to acquire them,
but since you been in the game for at least a little while now, this
really shouldn't come as any big surprise.

hspace="10" vspace="5">To gather the Living Flames,
you need to follow your marker a short distance to the northwest and
start killing Living Flames. The Flames are level 17 and 18 3-dot mobs.
The Living Flames tend to drop pretty steadily, so while you won't get
one with each kill, it's not a long process to gather the necessary 10.

By themselves, most classes should not have a problem soloing both this
part, and the gathering of the Vials of Corruption. Mixed in amongst
the flames are a large number of wandering lizard men as well. As a
friendly warning, be prepared to run sometimes. The lizards (and the
Flames for that matter) are highly
social and have a very wide agro
radius. It's not surprising to pull a lizard that appears to be by
himself, or with a single friend, just to realize that your screen has
just lit up with a stack of 6+ targets. If you stay on your toes, you
should be able to run away without much hassle.

hspace="5" vspace="5">After gathering up your 10
Living Flames, follow your marker west to Kalendra's Coven. Later on in
the series, you'll be coming back here to enter the Coven itself, but
for this first quest, you only need be concerned with the surface
ruins. There are a number of different humans on the surface here and
all of them can drop a Vial of Corruption. The drop rate on the Vials
appeared to be slower than that of the Flames, but it still does not
take an inordinate amount of time to complete this section. There are
more than enough targets to go through here, so you should have to
spend any time waiting for mobs to respawn. The humans on the surface
are level 17 and 18 3-dots, just like the Living Flames we just
finished with.

Eventually, you'll have all the Living Flames and Vials of Corruption
you require to complete the first quest. As soon as you gather them up,
head back to Neneler to tell him the good news. He'll give you a quick
congratulations and in the same breath tell you that even though you're
a member of the Hunter's League now, you will still be expected to
assist them when required. On the plus sides, the rewards are well
worth it.

Upon completion, Neneler will offer you your choice of shoulder piece.
As a Dread Knight going through this, I could only see the choices for
Heavy Fighters. As time goes on, I'll continue to add the other armor
pieces for other classes. For now though, this should give everyone an
idea of the quality of these rewards.
