Weekly Hot
Topics

Collected by Dalmarus

It's that time of the week again everyone, where I bring you the Weekly
Hot Topics featuring both the href="http://forums.tentonhammer.com/forumdisplay.php?f=38">TTH
Vanguard forums
and the  href="http://forums.station.sony.com/vg/forums/list.m">official
Vanguard forums.
This week puts more wear and tear on my resist gear than I've had in
quite some time, so let's get to it!

Have you come across a
thread you'd like to see featured? href="mailto:[email protected]">Send it off
(with a subject of "Weekly Hot Topics"). Or if style="font-weight: bold;">you want to be
featured, start an engaging thread on href="http://forums.tentonhammer.com/forumdisplay.php?f=38">our
forums here.

Hey!
I finally made it on to my own list. Rejoice!

Ok. All kidding aside, there is an
ulterior motive for me putting
this on here. I need your help folks. All of the classes have their own
special
brand of combo attacks that other players of the game don't know about.
While I
will concede that there are probably a number of players that know all
the
secrets of each class, let's face it... most of us don't. Rather than
making a
half-hearted attempt at playing all the classes (sue me, I don't want
to be a
paladin!) to get the information I need, I thought it would be better
to ask
all of you!

I've already been amazed at the
things learned in there so
far, so get cracking. Even if you don't have anything to divulge, you
might be
surprised what you can learn over there.

Do
you think Vanguard is unplayable if you work an 8-hour
day? Considering the fact that I, along with what I would guess to be
the
majority of readers here, work at LEAST an 8 hour day but still manage
to find
time to play, I think the author just needs to plan his time a little
better. I
could be wrong though! I work over 40 hours a week at my full time job,
more
hours than you'd believe working on this job, have a wife that takes up
a lot
of time (how dare she), and because of this, I never get to play and
haven't
managed to get past level 10. Ok - /sarcasm off. Sorry, I couldn't help
it. What
do you think? Am I being too hard on him, or should I continue?

The majority of the thread revolves
around how Vanguard was
never initially designed to be a casual friendly game, despite the fact
that it
seems to be getting more so with every patch. One poster sums up my
thoughts on
the subject perfectly:

style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 102, 102);">"Do I
wish I could cruise solo around all the premier
dungeons I read so much about? You bet. Do I think they should change
the game
to enable me to do so on my own terms? Not in a million
years."

command and Gold spammers - By Sakshale style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman";"> style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman";"> style="font-weight: bold;" target="_blank"

Initially, this post starts out as a
general concern that
the /report command has a timer attached to it which is often too long
to
effectively allow a player to report multiple gold seller spam
messages. The reason
I'm mentioning the post here though is Head GM Moonlite pipes into the
discussion. She states that any gold seller reported with just the
/report
command will never be investigated, as that is just a tool to "go
back" and look at evidence for petitions. People need to create a
petition
with the offending character's name/s for it to be seen. /Report is not
necessary, as Moonlite states they will be able to tell if the
offending
character is a gold spammer. So start sending those petitions!

I
think the title says it all. The general argument is
revolving around whether or not the boats themselves are causing large
amounts
of lag within cities or chunks. Of course, to make my list, you know
that can't
be the end of it, now can it? The other major concern is with those
that insist
on parking their boats on top of the NPC teleporters. How would you
solve this
issue? Despawn timers, despawn upon leaving chunk or exiting the game
or none
of the above?

Should players be able to leave their
boats wherever they
want for as long as they want, or perhaps you have an entirely new
suggestion
to address the problem?

Nerfs Need Further Discussion and Dev

Here's another thread about the upcoming class changes for
the Bloodmage. It's important to note that one of Vanguard's
developers, Tagad,
posted some important information regarding what's happening with the
class.
Things are on the test server for a reason. The numbers being tossed
around in
various threads/forums are incorrect. Not because someone misquoted
anything,
but because they are always changing. For all bloodmages that are
concerned
with their class being nerfed, you owe it to yourself to get over on to
Test,
start testing, and provide constructive feedback. If you don't, no
amount of
whining later will make most of us care.

In light of just how much trudging I had to do through the
official forums this week, I thought it would be not only nice, but
also
necessary, to end this week's Hot Topics on a lighter note. This may be
a bit
of an older thread, but some of these are just too funny to let them
slip away
without being pointed out. Case in point - "When during church you
stand
next to the priest and shout to the congregation, "Healer and Tank
LFM." For a good laugh, it's definitely worth the trip over there.

See? I don't think every post over
there this week is the
embodiment of pure evil, haha.

Conclusion

There you go everyone! After the
trips I took through some
forums this week, I think I need to either get a replacement set of
flame
resist gear, or perhaps even grab an upgrade or two. For some reason
both our
forums and the official forums had fewer posts this week than I can
recall
happening in quite some time. My theory behind all of this of course is
that
with the release of the Ancient Port Warehouse content being released
soon,
most players are concentrating on getting some leveling in so they can
hit the
ground running.

Am I right or simply off my rocker
this week? href="http://forums.tentonhammer.com/showthread.php?t=19908">Let
