About the Quest

Two NPCs grant this quest depending on your location in Telon. Both of them will lead you to Threntin Albeross, who is found in Silverlake, just outside of the outpost of Lakeview. Threntin will send you on a series of quests. Complete each of the steps to receive your reward.

Note: You'll find Lillia Brustleweed and Swimby Bramblefoot in the same area as Threntin. Talk to them, since they have the next two quests in the United Races of Thestra armor and weapon series.

Step One: Item Retrieval

Threntin wants you to help the URT out with the Zar fanatics. But first you'll have to recover the URT soul render that the halfling bandits have stolen from the supply caravan.

"The Zar fanatics are overtaking the area and causing a lot of trouble," Threntin says. "The URT wishes to assist the residents of Lakeview by saving the farmers to the west. The cult is using a strange magic to possess them."

"I have requested a tool from the URT in New Targonor that will remove the Zar soul possessing the farmers. But the caravan delivering the device to me was ambushed by those blasted halfling bandits. I need you to go to the crossroads west of here and take back the tool from them."

The bandits are level 17-19 2-dots. They roam the area that your quest waypoint will lead you to, and they're social and seem to assist their friends if you're within a certain range, so be careful for adds. Also keep an eye out for armor and necklace drops that may sell for a few coin to other players. Be especially alert for Sodden Healer's Armor, which sells for a bit more, or makes some nice armor for your mid-teens Cleric or Paladin.

Return to Threntin once you've found the soul render and receive a whopping 85 copper and the next part of your quest.

Step Two: Cleansing the Crazed

Now it's time to sneak past the bandits (you can go around the back side of their camp to avoid aggro, because you'll likely be attacked if you stick to the road) and find the poor crazed farmers. Your job is to free them using the URT soul render, so drag it to a spot on your hotbar for easy access.

"The URT Soul Render was crafted and designed to remove the Zar influence from the poor farmers," Threntin tells you. "I want you to use the device on them to rip out the Zar influence that controls them. You will need to dispose of the Zar spirit afterwards, as it may attack you."

"The farmers will be stupefied for a bit, as the Zar have very strong grasp on them, but once the corrupt soul is removed, they will recover in short time. I want you to free ten farmers for now. May you make URT proud."

Use the Soul Render on the crazed farmers, dispatch the level 17-18 2-dot spirits that spawn as you use the Render, and return to Threntin when you have freed 10 of them. You'll receive the usual reward of 85 copper and progress to the next part of your quest.

Step Three: Controlling the Situation

This is the URT, so of course things aren't going quite as planned. Threntin is in a bit of a panic:

"Danger, we have a serious problem. The farmers have not come out of their dazed states. Analysis has shown that not only did you remove the Zar influence within them, but you also removed their very souls."

Rampaging Zarian Netherbeast"This is not good. The souls have been destroyed, so now the farmers are nothing but mindless zombies. We need to get those farmers out of sight before the people of Lakeview notice. I need you to get Zarian dust from netherbeasts nearby. The dazed farmers can be lured with it. Please hurry!"

Off you go to kill Zarian Netherbeasts to collect their dust. You'll find the beasts just down the road from Threntin between Lakeview and the bandit camp. The Rampaged and Rampaging Zarian Netherbeasts are level 18 2-dots. Many are static with some wanderers mixed in, so they're fairly easy to single pull. Collecting the 10 dusts that you need requires a bit of patience, because the drops are random, but in no time you'll have the needed materials. Return to Threntin for your 85 copper and a gruesome task.

Step 4: To the Mill

When you return to Threntin, he has this task for you:

"We cannot wait for you to bring the ten farmers back alone, as the dust can only lure one of them at a time. Time is short, so ten trips back and forth is a unacceptable. I have other agents at hand, so I will only need you to grab three of them."

"The farmers' bodies must never be found. I want you to lure them to the windmill on the hill behind Lakeview. Take them to the second floor, kill them, and place their remains in the grinder. We can still help Lakeview by providing livestock food at least."

Here's the fun part. You're now equipped to lure the dazed farmers to their final resting place. You must take them one by one and trek past Threntin and up to the windmill which you can clearly see on the hilltop behind the village of Lakeview. When you get them inside the second floor room of the windmill (the stairs are outside and behind the mill), kill the poor farmer. He (or she, as the case may be) will leave remains. Collect those and place them in the mill to be ground up into, um...hamburger. (I warned you it was gruesome.)

Once the three farmers have been ground up, you'll see the mill showing a red exclamation point. Right click to remove the remains. In the same room you'll see a food barrel with which you can interact. Another right click deposits the remains there. Once this nasty task is completed, return to Threntin again and receive 85 copper.

Wrapping it Up

Once again, you've slaughtered some innocents and cleaned up a little mess that the URT made. It's all good, though, because your reward from Threntin Albeross is 3 silver 40 copper and your choice of the following:
