A Thorn of Old

This quest begins with Fuzzming the Lost on Whisperwind Isle in the Barren Sky (-581, -424) near the climbing wall to the Hoo'lah camp. He'll send you after three items.

First is Azdalin. He'll spawn in the center of the island on the Breedings Grouns in Tenebrous Tangle. He is a 65^^^ Heroic.

Second is Glyton - At the bottom of the Sanctum of the Scaleborn. He is 67ish ^^^ Heroic.

Lord Xyfl - Spawns inside the Temple of Ro in Lavastorm. If you are patient, he will fall asleep and you'll have the option of plucking a scale and not have to kill him. Keep your line of sight away from him by using the pillar and keep plucking until you get your scale. Otherwise? Bring friends.

After getting all three items. He will give you a Rusty Wurmslayer.

Next, you'll head to "An Old Weaponsmith" who can be found at the bottom on the Hidden Refuge in Tenebrous Tangle. If you aren't familiar with that island, find the waterfall on Temple Grounds and...well jump. Special Note for the average MMO player! You will actually have to READ what this NPC says and respond appropriately. After you give the correct responses he will reward you with a level 50 recipe to build an Oak Shafted Wurmslayer. Of course, you can't use any oak, it requires a beautiful oak shaft which can be found in a chest neart Cyenadros in the Sanctum of the Scaleborn (approximately 20, 300). You'll need 10 rosewood and 5 bitumous coal (Tier 7) per combine. Remember you can also commission this work.

The next incarnation is the Re-Bladed Wurmslayer, a level 63 recipe, and requires a special metal bar. Make your way to the 3rd floor of the Sanctum. You'll need to locate the workbenches where you will find a harvestable chest. You will then craft this item on the Sanctum of Scaleborn forges.

After this, take the Quellthulian Enchantments from an area near the Carniverous Pillar in the Halls of Fate. Use this to forge a Formed Wurmslayer. This is a level 65 geomancy combine. We should be done? No, this is a Heritage Quest. You're sword will get better!

Time to kill dragons and not the easy kind like earlier.....

Harla Dar who is an Epic x 4 in the Temple of Scale and is very difficult and requires an experienced raid group

Lord Vyemm who is an Epic x 4 Dragon in the Laboratory of Lord Vyemm can actually sometimes be done with a good pick up named raid. Success is more likely with the experienced raid guild though.

Sothis who actually isn't that bad. Can be combined with people working on their last steps for Hoo'lah's hat.

Return to the weaponsmith who will give you 3 blood, and you can craft your Wurmslayer. Return to him for more blood if you fail.

Special thanks to Taea the Quest Addict for numerous corrections
