In Destiny there are seven different stats you need to be aware of when configuring your guardian. Having the right amount of certain stats for a specific class or build, is essential if you want to maximize their lethality and get the most your of your guardian.

Guardian Stats

Guardian Stats are determined on your class configuration page. They are comprised of three different stats: Armor, Recovery and Agility. These stats are not altered by equipment (with the exception of Armor), but can be changed by selecting different abilities in your class's skill tree.

Armor - Increases the strength of your "Shield" (white bar over your health), meaning the more armor you have the more damage you can take before dying. Especially helpful for a tankier class like the Titan. Armor is also increased from equipping better equipment.

Recovery - Increases the speed at which your health is regenerated. Very useful for the Crucible as the less time you have to wait for your health the regen, the faster you can get back into the battle.

Agility - Stacking this stat increases your champions movement speed and their maximum jump height. Another great stat to pad if you are playing a lot of crucible, so you can quickly move between different levels of the map.

Primary Stats

Your Guardian's primary stats can be found on the main character page. Primary stats can only be added through equipment, with the higher level and more exotic gear giving the most amount of stats. Ever guardian has the same three primary stats: Intellect, Discipline and Strength. Mixing and matching different stats is one of the keystones behind properly kitting out your Guardian for maximum effectiveness.

Intellect - Intellect has the beneficial effect of reducing the cooldown of your Guardian's Super Ability. Maxing out your intellect (getting it to 100%) will reduce your Super's cooldown by 1:35. Another beneficial effect of Intellect is that it will increase the amount of Super Orbs you give off whenever you make a kill, perfect for team situations.

Discipline - The default grenade cooldown time is 60 seconds. The more Discipline your Guardian has, the lower the cooldown of your grenade abilities.   Maxing out your Discipline will reduce the cooldown of your grenades to 20 seconds.

Strength - The Strength stat reduces the cooldown on your classes special melee ability. For Hunters this is the Throwing Knife, Titans the Storm Fist, and Warlocks Energy Drain. You can reduce the cooldown from the default of 60 seconds to 20 seconds if you max out your Strength.
