Overview

Verdant Brink is the first zone in the Maguuma Jungle and contains 11 Hero Points. The vast majority can be easily obtained through Gliding though two require Updraft Use and Nuhoch Mastery. I would also add that it’s best to do the majority of these Hero Points in pairs or more because it makes the process of killing the Champion monsters much easier. I’d recommend you advertise for help or ask your guild when you enter the zone. Finally, be aware that Masteries are on the Canopy, surface level and the jungle floor.

1. Wyvern Nesting Grounds Hero Point

Mastery Required: Basic Gliding

Difficulty: Soloable

When you reach the Itzel camp on Wyvern Cliffs, just run forwards towards the edge.

Directions: You’ll need to head west from the Jaka Itzel Waypoint and move towards the hill at the north. You approach the Hero Point from the cliff side and head southeast. If you glide down the hill you’ll land on the plateau where you’ll see the fire and electric Wyverns. Just be sure to take a condition clear as the burning stacks can seriously hurt.

2. Nightthistle Blossom Hero Point (Creeping Crevasse)

Mastery Required: Basic Gliding

Difficulty: 2+ Players with the Hero Point spawning random Champion Mordrem.

Fly out into the bowl below and just descend towards the floor and through the building with the open roof.

Once you've dropped down through the roof, it's right in front of you.

Directions: From Ship Wreck Waypoint, jump off the cliff and glide down into the basin. You need to keep dropping and reopening your wings to reach the middle of the ravine. Once inside, on your right you’ll see a landing pad where the Hero Point is. Just be sure to retreat once you activate it to see what Modrem come out.

3. Ancient Fighting Pit Hero Point (Shrouded Ruins)

Mastery Required: No mastery required.

Difficulty: Soloable.

After leaving the Waypoint, carry on east and hang right. You'll see the gap in the wall. Just head up the stairs and follow the ridge.

Directions: A super easy Hero Point. Just head right and up from the Shrouded Ruins Waypoint. If you follow the stairs and cliff line, you can just jump around to the Hero Point.

4. Nuhoch Wallows Hero Point

Mastery Required: Basic Gliding and Nuhoch Proving

Difficulty: Soloable.

Directions: From Stonetwist Paths Waypoint, jump off the east cliff and glide down onto the cross roads. Interact with the Nuhoch tunnel and you’ll be transported down.

5. Pile of Guano Hero Point (Skyclaw Peaks)

Mastery Required: Basic Gliding

Difficulty: 2+ (3 preferred)

Directions: Many people think you need Updraft for this Hero Point, but you don’t! At night time, head to Nobel Ledges and climb the spiral to the top. Take the Pact Chopper to the canopy and hang right on landing. Drop down and you looking out over the east, you’ll see an island ahead of you. Glide down to it and make your way fowards, to the tip. Once there, just glide onto the crashed airship and work your way along the metal beams to the Champion spawn. Easy!

6. Abyssal Depths Hero Point

Mastery Required: Basic Gliding

Difficulty: Soloable.

Be sure to jump all the way to the vine floor from off the edge of the vine.

Directions: From Stonetwist Paths Waypoint, head southwest. At the edge of the cliff, you can jump straight down and right near the very bottom you’ll see the Hero Point in an alcove on the cliff. Glide to it and just interact with it.

7. Coztic Itzel Belongings Hero Point

Mastery Required: Basic Gliding

Difficulty: 2+ (3 preferred)

Climb the spiral behind Faren Flyer's Waypoint. Walk to the top of the metal beam and turn left onto the iron bar.

Once on the bar, fly out to the vine (see left arrow). Having landed, work your way towards both indicated arrows.

Directions: From Faren’s Flyer Waypoint climb the spiral and make your way across the vine. Climb up the metal beam, turn left to look out over the vine and fly to it. Once you've landed, walk across the vine and collect the Mastery Point (might as well). You can then climb on a small branch and fly to the opposite platform to kill the Itzel. Just be aware that he can one-shot you.

8. Ancient Tree Hero Point (West of Coztic Grounds)

Mastery Required: Basic Gliding and Itzel Poison Lore

Difficulty: Soloable

Once you've reached the edge, indicated by the end of the orange line, jump off and turn around - to fly back inside the tree trunk.

When descending, hang right and you'll see the thorn bushes. Be sure to land where the orange arrow points down.

Directions: From Faren’s Flyer Waypoint just head northeast. There’s a huge tree half on its side and the Hero Point is towards the bottom of the canopy floor. You’ll need to jump off the cliff edge and freefall to the bottom. On your right you’ll see a small gap in the tree where you can glide in. There’s a fair amount of enemies here so be careful. If you don't have Itzel Poison Lore just run onto the Hero Point, die and use a Revive Orb. You'll come back alive whilst being able to freely interact with the Hero Point.

9. Cliffside Ruins Hero Point (South of The Doomteeth)

Mastery Required: Basic Gliding

Difficulty: Soloable.

From Meggalon’s Valor head forward to the cliff edge and jump off.

Make sure you reach the top of the hill before jumping off.

Directions: It took me a while to find this one, but I found the best way was to head west from Meggalon’s Valor Waypoint and once you reach the cliff edge, glide over to the opposite island. After landing begin to head northwest and work your way around the cliff edge. If you turn around, you’ll see three gusts of winds in a row - leap off towards those and stay close to the cliff wall. The opening is on your right. Just be aware there is a Griffin inside who can knock you off.

10. Security Console Hero Point

Mastery Required: Basic Gliding

Difficulty: 2+ (3 preferred)

Directions: Go up the hill in Faren’s Flyer Waypoint and on your right, walk around the giant vine. When you reach the end, leap off towards the opposite platform. Once you interact with the console, be sure to kill the robots that try to heal the Golem. I did this with 2 players but it took some time. A super easy Hero Point.

11. Saurian Food Hero Point

Mastery Required: Basic Gliding

Difficulty: Soloable.

Directions: From the Treacherous Paths Waypoint turn right and glide on over towards the east and kill the spawn. Super easy!
