The Gainer is a powerful legendary revolver in Fallout 4 that can be found hidden among the ruins of the wasteland. Getting your hands on this gun will significantly increase your odds of survival and the odds of lighting your enemies on fire when you shoot them.

The Gainer is being hid behind a locked door in a subterranean pump house on the North East part of the map. It’s not a marked location, so you’ll have to find it by sight. You’ll find it just to the South of the Hub City Auto Wreckers along the water. The door will be slightly ajar put can be opened fully.

Once you’re inside, you’ll be faced with a door and a strange number puzzle that you have to solve to unlock it. If you look behind you, you’ll find the answer to the puzzle written on the wall, but we’ve also included a screenshot here to make it perfectly clear. Use the four buttons on the device to increment the numbers to the appropriate places and the door will open.

That’s all there is to it. The gun will be laying on the floor just to the right of the gory skeleton (previous owner).

The gun itself is a powerful revolver with a holographic sight. It’s got good accuracy at a distance, but a somewhat slow rate of fire. It does however light enemies that it does hit ablaze, causing additional damage over time.
