Quest for the Ancient Daggers

General Strategies

Entering one room (you'll be able to see a body on a platform in the
center and a barred gate that is open until you pass under it) will
spring a trap, causing the gate to close behind you and forcing you to
proceed through an acid trap. If you notice the room before you enter,
you do not have to go through it in order to complete the quest--you
can go around.



To kill the slain guardsmen, pull them with ranged attacks to draw them
out of their lairs. Outside the lair, they are easier to kill because
you'll have more mobility.



Kill the slain guardsmen and the spiders first before destroying the
sarcophagi; that way you'll ensure that you have enough spell
points/hit points to slay the Captain. Use the rest shrine (across from
the Captain's lair) prior to fighting the Captain if necessary--he can
hit hard.

Upon entering the crypt, proceed through the
chambers to find the doors which lead to the slain guardsmen (zombies).
You will encounter a conjured spider near the entrances to each
guardsman's lair.

 

For each guardsman (of 3)
that you kill, a rune will begin to glow. When the final guardsman is
slain, you will have access to the room containing the chest with the
daggers, which is guarded by the Captain.

Once you've slain the captain, if
you choose you can go back and break the sarcophagi. Some will contain
decrepit skeletons.
