Warlock Talents

Each class in World of Warcraft
has access to three distinct Talent Trees. Here players will have the
chance (starting at level 10) to place talent points that are earned as
they level into
various class-specific abilities known as talents. At
one time picking talents could be a difficult and daunting task, but
thanks to a few changes in Patch 4.0.1 by Blizzard, picking talents has
become less of a headache.

Once a player has decided on a
talent tree and placed their first point in it they must place all
future points in that specific talent tree until they have spent a
total of 31 point, unless a total respec is done. After the 31 point
limit is reached, the player may then place their points in any talent
tree they wish.

Each talent tree provides the
player with a distinct play experience and you should choose the one
that appeals most to you, even if it is a little off the beaten path.
For Warlocks these talent trees are Affliction, Demonology, and
Destruction. Learn
more about the Warlock
talent trees below:

Affliction Warlock

Blizzard describes the
Affliction Warlock:

  • “A master of
Shadow magic who specializes in fear, drains, and damage-over-time
    spells.”

Warlocks who choose to go the
Affliction route will find that the tree is loaded with excellent
talents most of which are aimed at improving their various damage over
time spells and curses. Players who choose this tree at level 10 will
automatically gain access to Unstable Affliction, a deadly
damage-over-time spell that will become a must have in their spell
rotation.

Once the Affliction talent tree
has been opened must haves for this type of Warlock include talents
such as: Doom and Gloom, Improved Corruption, Soul Siphon, Eradication,
Improved Life Tap, Soul Swap, Shadow Embrace, Death’s
Embrace, Nightfall, Everlasting Affliction, Pandemic, and Haunt. There
are many other excellent spells in this tree, choose the ones that
benefit your most used spells.

Once the Affliction Warlock has
placed enough talent points in their starting tree there are some
excellent talents in the other two trees that are must haves such as;
Dark Arts from the Demonology tree, and Shadow and Flame from the
Destruction tree.

Demonology Warlock

Blizzard describes the
Demonology Warlock:

  • “A Warlock who
uses both Fire and Shadow magic
    along with powerful demons.”

Those Warlocks who choose the
Demonology route will find their talent tree filled with talents aimed
at empowering their pets as well as improving their deadly spells. Once
this tree has been chosen the Warlock will automatically gain the
ability to summon a Felguard, this specs go-to pet. Once the tree has
been unlocked and you have a chance to glance over it you will find
many tempting talents, but as with everything, some are simply better
than others.

Some must have talents for
Demonology Warlocks include: Dark Arts, Metamorphosis, Demonic Pact,
Cremation, Decimation, Ancient Grimlore, Inferno, Hand of
Gul’dan, Molten Core, Mana Feed, and Impending Doom. These
must have talents are only a few of those found in the tree, so check
out the other talents here and choose those that impact the spells and
abilities you use the most.

Not all the great talents are
found in the Demonology tree. To truly get the best spec you must pick
up a few spells from the Destruction tree including: Bane,
Emberstorm,
Improved Immolate, and Shadow and Flame.

Destruction Warlock

Blizzard describes the
Destruction Warlock:

  • “Calls down
demonic fire to burn and demolish enemies.”

The Destruction Warlock specializes in just that; destruction. To do
this their talent tree focuses on improving their Fire magics.

The Destruction Warlock
specializes
in just that; destruction. To do this their talent tree
focuses on improving their Fire magics. Once the Affliction tree has
been chosen the Warlock will gain access to Conflagrate which will
become an important spell in their ultimate spell rotation. Once the
talent tree has been unlocked you will find many tempting talents
however a few stand out above the rest.

Must have talents in the
Destruction tree include: Chaos Bolt, Bane of Havoc, Empowered Imp,
Bane, Shadow and Flame, Improved Immolate, Emberstorm, Fire and
Brimstone, Improved Soul Fire, Backdraft, Burning Embers, and Soul
Leech. These must have talents are only a few of those found in the
tree, so check out the other talents here and choose those that impact
the spells and abilities you use the most.

Not all the must have talents
for the Destruction Warlock are found in the Destruction tree. Instead
this spec of Warlock must also venture into the Demonology tree where
they should pick up Dark Arts and Mana Feed and into the Affliction
tree for Improved Corruption.

Remember, the above listings
are only suggestions based on tried and true methods, how you
ultimately choose to spec is entirely up to you. Check out Blizzard's href="http://us.battle.net/wow/en/tool/talent-calculator#warlock"
