"The Fastest Path to 60!"

For level 27 and 28 we are going to venture back into the Thousand Needles area, focusing on completing all the quests west of the Shimmering Flats. For these levels the amount of grinding depends on how many MOBs you kill while traveling between quests and how much you came into the section with. There are a few trips to other zones that will need to be made at this level, so be prepared to spend some time flying back and forth between zones.

By the end of this section you should be done level 27,28 and almost 1/3 of the way through level 29.

When you get back to Freewind Post turn in "The Sacred Flame" and get the next part in the chain (which again has the same name). You should also be able to get the quest "A Different Approach".
Travel almost straight north from Freewind Post to find "The Sacred Flame" hidden in a cave on the north cliff face near 45,37.
From here return south to the path and follow west past the fork north that would return you to the great lift until you find Whitereach Post. Collect all the quests there including: "Wind Rider", "Steelsnap", and a "Different Approach".
Travel south west and up the cliff face to the home of the highperch Wyverns and collect their eggs for "Wind Rider". Your should be able to find them up the ramp at 18,41.
Just east of this area you should be able to find Pao'ka Swiftmountain for the escort quest "Homeward Bound" which is fairly easy unless Steelsnap wanders into your path, in which case you may have to abandon it and retry later.
After you have completed that, clear the area and defeat "Steelsnap" if you are able. CC, slow and fear are all useful and should allow you to down him. He wanders the area around Camp E'Thok near 13,19.
You can find the MOBS for "A Different Approach" at the west end of the zone, just be careful of the Alliance post found there, and don't wander to near it.
Follow the road east to the lake (just past the fork in the road) for the "Sacred Fire" quest. Return to Freewind Post to turn in "The Sacred Flame" and "Wind Rider" and then fly to Thunderbluff.
In Thunderbluff turn in your quests, which should be "Steelsnap" and "Sacred Fire" to get the next parts "Frostmaw" and "Arikara". Once you have, return to Freewind Post and get the quest "Grimtotem Spying" and "Wanted - Arnak Grimtotem" (found on the wanted poster).

Head west and then north up the pathways to Darkcloud Pinnacle to complete "Grimtotem Spying","Arikara", "Wanted - Arnak Grimtotem" and "Free at Last". You can find the ramp near 31,36.

Several of these can be difficult as a single person so if there are people around to held, grab them. They are all doable though if you carefully clear the area around each quest first and are careful with each fight. Some classes may have issues and may need to leave them to later or wait for a group.

Travel west back to Whitereach Post to turn in "A Different Approach" and "Arikara". At this point you can accept the "A Dip in the Moonwell" quest.

At this point you should be very close to level 29 and can grind it out on any of the MOBs in the zone.

The Centaur camp mentioned in the level 25 guide is still a great grinding place, and it is worth returning to to grind out some experience at any point in time during this section. I also find the MOBs on the Darkcloud Pinnacle a good space to grind since there are many around and they come in small groups.

Level 28 and 29 are prime levels to do the Razorfen Kraul instance. It is a fairly short instance and one that is a lot of fun with several quests to do. The moshing skeletons alone are worth the trip to see. While not in the Thousand Needles zone it is located in the deep south of the Barrens and is most easily gotten to by traveling north up the great lift and then turning right once you are in the Barrens.

You can find a complete guide here: TenTonHammer's Guide to The Razorfen Kraul.

Continue west to the edge of the zone near 9,18 to find and complete the "A Dip in the Moonwell" quest.
You can find the "Hypercapacitor Gizmo" just west of the great lift, and while the quest is elite it is possible to complete it depending on your class and or getting a group.

Find the Galak Messenger near 30,28 to get the drop that starts an "Assassination Plot" which needs to be taken back to Whitereach post.

While at Whitereach Post, turn in an "Assassination Plot" and "A Dip in the Moonwell". You should be able to get "Testing the Tonic" and start "Protect Kanati Greycloud".
Before talking to and starting "Protect Kanati Greycloud", ensure you are at full health and mana and ready for a fight, because as soon as accepted the MOBs spawn and attack.

Return to Freewind Post to turn in all your remaining quests and then make your way to Tarren Mill in the Hillsbrad Foothills for the next part of your leveling.

The fastest way is likely hearthing to your main city and then flying there or taking the Zeppelin to the Undercity and then running.
