No
matter your spec or class, you will find that you usually have a
pre-determined role in game. Fulfill this role and your group will
triumph over mighty bosses and gain epic loot, fail and you will find
yourself doing the walk of shame back from the graveyard. While nothing
but long hard hours of play and a constant drive for improvement can
ensure your success, there are some things you can do to make the job a
little bit easier. Macros are one of them.

Macros are groupings of several
slash commands (/poke, /cast, /use etc) that work together when the
player clicks a button. Macros can be created by every player in World
of Warcraft and when used correctly can make game play just a tad bit
easier. Healers especially, because of their tendency to have some of
the hardest jobs in game, can greatly benefit from the use of macros.

However, despite their
usefulness and overall appeal, some players find the making of macros
(or even the searching out of) a process they don’t want any
part of. So that’s why in this new article we here at Ten Ton
Hammer will be sharing some of our favorite macros for each healing
class. We hope you enjoy!

General Healing Macros

Mouseover Macro

If you are a healer then you
will find that mouse over macros
will greatly benefit you. A mouse over
macro will cast a specific spell on a target that you literally mouse
over. While some prefer add ons like Clique to do the work for them
others prefer to stick with macros. Below you will find a basic hover
over macro. Replace Renew with any spell to fit your needs:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
/use [@mouseover, help]
Renew
Dual Trinket Proc Macro

A simple yet efficient this
macro will allow the healer to activate both trinket uses (if
available) with a single click:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
/use 13

/use 14

Restoration Druid Macros

Rebirth + Revive Macro

Even though other classes are
now able to perform the feat, the Druid spell of Rebirth is still a
valuable asset to any raid not to be wasted. Combine this with the
Druid’s Revive ability and things can get a little confusing.
Use the macro below to make sure never cast the wrong spell again. When
this macro is clicked it will either cast Revive or Rebirth depending
on if the Druid is in or out of combat and to add icing to the cake it
will also announce to your raid when Rebirth is cast:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
#showtooltip

/use [nocombat] Revive

/stopmacro [nocombat]

/use Rebirth

/ra Rebirth on %t
Instant Healing Touch Macro

At some point in your career as
a healing Druid you are likely to have an “Oh Crap”
moment. When this happens use this macro to cast Nature’s
Swiftness followed by a now instant Healing Touch to save the life of
one of your fellow players in one easy click:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
/showtooltip Nature's
Swiftness

/stopcasting

/use Nature's Swiftness

/use [@mouseover] Healing Touch
Remove Corruption Macro

This macro will cast the spell
Remove Corruption
on the first target you have your mouse pointer hovered over. If you
don’t have a mouse over target it will cast it on your
current target instead. If you have no mouse over target and no current
target it will be cast on yourself. This macro is especially useful for
those Druids who do not use a cleansing program such as Decursive:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
#showtooltip

/cast [@mouseover,exists,nodead][exists,nodead][@player] Remove
Corruption

Holy Paladin Macros

Hand of Protection Macro

This handy dandy macro will
allow you to cast Hand of Protection on the player of your choice by
replacing “player name” with the name of your
chosen target. This is especially useful when the Paladin is pocket
healing a target:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
#Showtooltip Hand of
Protection

/cast [@playername, help] Hand of Protection
Beacon of Light Macro

This macro will allow the
paladin to cast Beacon of Light onto their current focus target. This
is especially useful for players who wish to cast Beacon of Light on
the tank without worrying about constantly retargeting them to cast

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
#showtooltip

/cast [target=focus] Beacon of Light

Holy Priest Macros

Shadowfiend Attack Macro

Shadowfiends are without a
doubt some of the dumbest pets in game. Give your Shadow fiend a little
helping hand with this macro that will ensure that it is attacking and
generally working as intended:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
#showtooltip

/cast [nopet] Shadowfiend

/petattack

/cast Shadowcrawl
Annouce Lightwell Macro

Lightwell is less useless than
it used to be and Priests find themselves dropping it more than ever
before. Wouldn’t it be nice though if there was some way to
announce to your group that the Lightwell was available? Now you can
with the following macro:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
#showtooltip

/cast Lightwell

/say >> Lightwell is down! <<
Discipline Priest Macros

Shadowfiends are without a
doubt some of the dumbest pets
in game. Give your Shadow fiend a little helping hand with this macro
that will ensure that it is attacking and generally working as intended:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
#showtooltip

/cast [nopet] Shadowfiend

/petattack

/cast Shadowcrawl
Penance Heal Macro

Want to use Penance as a heal
all the time, even
when you have yourself targeted? The macro below
will allow you to do just that and if you happen to change your mind
simply hold down Ctrl while clicking this macro and it will do damage
to the enemy you have targeted instead

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
#showtooltip /cast
[modifier:ctrl] Penance;

/cast [help] Penance; [target=player] Penance
Inner Focus + Heal Macro

This macro will allow the
Discipline Priest to cast Inner Focus immediately followed by Greater
Heal which will save you a lot of mana. You may replace Greater Heal
with any other spell in your arsenal that you would prefer to use:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
#show Greater Heal

/target [target=hbtarget] /cast Inner Focus

/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear() /cast Greater Heal

Restoration Shaman Macros

Healing Mouseover Macro

While there are not a ton of
Restoration Shaman macros out there, a good mouse over macro is always
useful. Simply replace Chain Heal with whichever spell you desire and
then hover over a player while using this macro to see the results:

style="width: 600px; text-align: left; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; background-color: rgb(204, 153, 51); font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"
border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2">
#showtooltip Chain Heal

/cast [target=mouseover,help,nodead][help][target=player] Chain Heall
