Patch 6.2 Battle Pets

As mentioned above, the newest patch is quite promising when it comes to battle pets:

Tanaan Jungle Pets

Patch 6.2 will reintroduce us into the Tanaan Jungle. With the entirety of this zone now available to explore, you can bet your bottom that there will be some new pets to collect here. Currently, there are four wild pets to collect in this equally wild zone:

  • Bloodbeak
  • Cerulean Moth
  • Fen Crab
  • Violet Firefly

Also hailing from the Jungle, players will be able to obtain a Fel Puppy from the quest “A Fel Puppy of My Own”. Details of this quest are currently unavailable.

Garrison

A brand new vendor will now be available inside your personal Garrison at the Menagerie. In Patch 6.2 Tiffy Trapspring (A) and Giada Goldleash (H) will sell you these four brand spanking new pets:

  • Bloodthron Hatchling
  • Lost Netherpup
  • Glowing Sporebat
  • Dusty Sporewing

Darkmoon Faire Pets

Two new pets will be available from the Darkmoon Faire in Patch 6.2. Once it rolls into town, players will be able to purchase:

  • Ghosthsell Crab
  • Blorp

Both pets appear to be available from a brand new vendor by the name of Galissa Sundew. Also returning in Patch 6.2 is Hogs. Earn Hogs for your collection by completing the That's Whack achievement by earning 45 points in 1 session of Whack-a-Gnoll. So get to practicing your Whack-a-Gnoll skills now!

Tribute Pet

Finally, another special tribute pet will be released to show that Blizzard has a soft side. In tribute to Community Manager Nethaera a special candle NPC named Nethaera's Light will now appear in various locations around Dalaran. After /cheering (possibly more than once) at this lovely floating candle, the flame will begin to grow brighter.

Once you have given your best cheer, Nethaera's Light will burst into a small firework. Afterwards, this candle will be added directly into your pet journal. Please note, Nethaera's Light cannot participate in pet battles, which only makes sense considering the gentle nature of Nethaera.

Hellfire Citadel

What would a new patch be without one pet that dropped from a boss? In Patch 6.2 the Corrupted Nest Guardian will drop from inside Hellfire Citadel. Dropped from Shadow-Lord Iskar, this pet looks like a fel-touched Ancient Nest Guardian.

Legendary Pet Encounters

Also inside Tanaan Jungle players will be able to take part in Legendary pet battles. Around Tanaan, there will be Legendary “boss” pets that players can challenged to battle once daily. There are 13 of these encounters that, as of now, are incomplete. If

you win a battle against one of these pets, you will be awarded with a Fel-Touched Bag of Pet Supplies. Inside you will find goodies such as Pet Charms, Fel-Touched Battle-Training Stones to increase a pet's level, and potentially one of four rare pets including:

  • Seaborne Spore
  • Zangar Spore
  • Nightmare Bell
  • Periwinkle Calf

Also connected with the Legendary Pet Encounters is an achievement; Tiny Terrors in Tanaan. This achievement requires you to beat all of the Legendary pets found in the Tanaan Jungle.

Pet Toys

Besides new pets, players will also have some new toys and items for their pets. Purchased for Pet Charms, players may purchase one of three new toys:

  • Indestructible Bone – Give a bone to your Perky Pug. Costs 50 Pet Charms.
  • Spirit Wand – Gives your pet a spectral look. Costs 100 Pet Charms.
  • Magic Pet Mirror – Take on the appearance of your companion pet. Costs 500 Pet Charms.

Finally, if you enjoy the fel-look on your pets, Patch 6.2 will make you one happy camper. In this patch players will be able to use Fel Petals to give their pets a temporary green tranlucent apperance. To get Fel Petals you will need to collect The Perfect Blossom in Zorammarsh, Tanaan Jungle. The Perfect Blossom will also drop a toy of the same name. This toy has a 1 day cooldown and will drop 2-4 Fel Petals every time it is used. Simply use the petals on any battle pet to give them a short-term fel appearance!

Please note that all information above has been taken from the PTR version of Patch 6.2. Any and all information may change before the patch is officially released.
