Gear and equipment choices are complicated for any class or situation.
As a Hunter the situation is no different. Is it better to focus on
Agility or Attack Power, Crit or Hit? This is further complicated by
the various builds chose from. In today's Hunter guide update Byron
"Messiah" Mudry looks at the numerous options a Hunter has and lays out
some guidelines for choosing the best gear.

Hunter stats should focus on maximizing the amount of
damage dealt by
your ranged weapon. A hunter is strongest at a distance and relies on
stats that help increase ranged damage. Therefore, a hunter's most
useful stat is agility. Agility increases attack power, your critical
hit chance and your armor. Therefore, a high agility will help in many
ways.
