3.0 - Talent Builds

The following are various tried, true, and tested builds that are very good at doing what they are designed to do. As a notice, though, you should ALWAYS try to make your own build and play how you want to play. That's just way more fun! If you need a good push in the right direction, then check out these following top builds!

If you are not sure which talents are best, then make your way to our Paladin Talent Guide to find out.

3.1 Leveling Build

Designed for: Those leveling up.

Holy Talents

5/5 Benediction
2/2 Improved Judgement
3/5 Deflection
1/1 Seal of Command
5/5 Conviction
2/2 Persuit of Justice
2/2 Improved Retribution Aura (or improved Crusader)
1/1 Sanctity Aura

Retribution Talents

5/5 Divine Strength
5/5 Spiritual Focus
3/3 Healing Light

This takes you to level 45, from where you can begin filling out the rest of the retribution line or do what many players will do and begin going for their endgame talent spec at that time. The way this build flows is that you pick up Benediction which really helps conserve your mana while Improved Judgement increases your DPS. Deflection is some of the best defense you can get (additional 3 percent chance to negate a physical attack). Seal of Command is an amazing DPS skill. From there, you should max out Conviction. Here you have a few… not so good choices. You need to spend five points (Pursuit of Justice is good for getting around or Improved Seal of the Crusader if you judge it often or Improved Retribution Aura for good damage). Then grab Sancity Aura. From there, place 5 points in Divine Strength and then 5 in Spiritual Focus. Pick up all of Healing Light at which point you’ll be at level 45. From there, you can fill out the Retribution line to gain Vengeance or fill out the holy line for better healing!

3.2 DPS Build

Designed for: Those looking for the best possible DPS, giving up healing and some defense for the ability to lay the holy smackdown on the enemy!

Retribution

5/5 Benediction
2/2 Improved Judgement
3/3 Improved Seal of the Crusader
1/1 Seal of Command
5/5 Conviction
1/2 Pursuit of Justice *
2/2 Improved Retribution Aura
2/2 Eye for an Eye
1/1 Sancity Aura
3/3 Two-Handed Weapon Specilisation
5/5 Vengance
1/1 Repentance

Protection

5/5 Redoubt *
2/2 Guardian’s Favor
3/3 Precision *
1/1 Blessing of Kings

Holy

5/5 Divine Intelligence *
4/5 Spiritual Focus *

Talents with * next to them can safely be changed about without no major influence on the overall idea of the build.

This build gives you the highest amount of possible while giving you one of the best blessings in the game. Alternatively, you can take the 11 points out of protection and gain more efficient healing (along with consecration aura). This build is best for those looking to do solo PvP or just have a lot of damage!

Why are there points in Redoubt? The gain, for the selfish Paladin, is much better then that of improved Devotion Aura. Redoubt is a very good skill whenever you need to whip out that shield to keep yourself up (for instance, fighting elites). The choice is really up to you.

3.3 Healing Build

Designed for: Those looking for the most efficient ability to heal while at the same time having good defense. This is one of the best raiding builds.

Holy

5/5 Divine Intellect
5/5 Spiritual Focus
3/3 Healing Light
1/1 Consecration
2/2 Improved Lay on Hands
1/1 Unyielding Faith
5/5 Illumination
2/2 Improved Blessing of Light
1/1 Divine Favor
5/5 Holy Power
1/1 Holy Shock

Protection

5/5 Redoubt
5/5 Improved Devoation Aura
2/2 Guardian’s Favor
2/2 Toughness
1/1 Blessing of Kings
3/3 Improved Hammer of Justice
2/3 Improved Concentration Aura

Or (for those who want to be able to do decent damage while sacrificing important raiding tools)…

5/5 Improved Blessing of Might
3/5 Deflection
2/2 Improved Judgement
1/1 Seal of Command
5/5 Conviction
4/5 Improved Devotion Aura

This build (the core holy spec) is pretty much “THE” way to go for making a healing Paladin. Going the rest of the points in Protection is perfect for those who want to survive the longest and dedicate themselves to healing. Going the rest in Retribution gives you the ability to do decent damage and be an all-star healer.

3.4 Hybrid Build

Designed for: Those who want to do everything!

Holy

5/5 Divine Intellect
5/5 Spiritual Focus
3/3 Healing Light
1/1 Consecration
2/2 Improved Lay on Hands
1/2 Unyielding Faith
5/5 Illumination
2/2 Improved Blessing of Wisdom
1/1 Divine Favor
4/5 Holy Power

Protection

5/5 Improved Devotion Aura (or 5/5 Redoubt)
2/2 Guardian’s Favor
3/3 Toughness (or any of the other protection talents)
1/1 Blessing of Kings

Retribution

5/5 Improved Blessing of Might
5/5 Deflection (or Improved Judgement/Benediction)
1/1 Seal of Command

This build lets you do it all! A perfect raid healer, every possible blessing (other then Sanctuary), and the ability to do damage! I personally used this build for months and could never been happier. Try this build out if you want to be able to do it all!
