Last week ArenaNet teased the first trailer for the upcoming Twilight Assault update for Guild Wars 2. This week more details about the content of that update has been revealed. A few things that players can expect in Twilight Assault is the new level 80 path for the Twilight Arbor dungeon, Exotic Nightmare weapons, new Achievement awards, and Aether Chests, which can be opened by collecting pieces of Aether keys from across Tyria. New Level 80 path, rewards await players in latest Living World update
BELLEVUE, Wash. Sept. 24, 2013: ArenaNet, developer of the acclaimed Guild Wars franchise, today announced Twilight Assault, the latest content update for Guild Wars 2, coming to the game Oct. 1. The update continues ArenaNets commitment to delivering players new content every two weeks, faster than any Western competitor.
In Twilight Assault, trouble is stirring in Twilight Arbor and rumors abound that Scarlet Briar, the devious leader of the Aetherblades, is behind the suspicious activity. Players will join the sylvari hero Caithe in attempting to stop Scarlets scheming, but it will take daring, wits and weaponry to put an end to the mischief.
Twilight Assault also includes several new events and rewards. Players can get an early look at the release by joining a preview livestream with ArenaNet developers on Monday, Sept. 30, at noon (PDT) on the Guild Wars 2 Twitch channel at http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2.
New Events
- Level 80 Path in Twilight Arbor: Players can work with each other and Caithe to find a way into a secret, hidden facility where theyll take on guards, navigate traps, and square off against the monster at the heart of the stronghold.
New Rewards
- Achievement Rewards: Players completing Twilight Assault can earn the new (glowing) Slickpack back item, or a miniaturized version of one of the most powerful foes that lurk in Twilight Arbor.
- Exotic Nightmare Weapons: Players can obtain a new version of the Nightmare weapons via rare drops by foes in Twilight Arbor explorable mode.
- Aether Chests: Players can collect Aether Key Pieces from across Tyria, combining five to form a key that will open Aether Chests in Twilight Arbor.
