You never get a second chance to make a first impression goes an old saying, and rarely is it proved wrong. Dungeons and Dragons Online has done just that however with the switch in revenue model away from subscriptions to a free-to-play with microtrasnaction platform. Not content to simply rest on its newfound success, the team at Turbine is cranking out adventure packs to satisfy the newly resurgent player base. One of the newest to enter the fray is Gianthold, a pack intended for players in the level 13-14 range that features ten adventures, fourty-five quests and a raid.

Frogster continues to hop from one country to the next with its blockbuster hit Runes of Magic. Landing in Korea this puts them in every country that matters when it comes to MMO's and really video games in general.

The bar is set very high for Frogster Asia with its Korean launch. They want to put themselves out in forefront with other top Free to Play MMO titles in Korea.

Along with a successful launch in Korea Frogster was nominated for a German Developer award - 'Best International PC Game of 2009’(hope you can read it cause its in German)

Machinima is the fun and stunning art of taking in-game visuals and putting them eloquently to music. These can be as amusing as a tribute to the king of pop, or as pretty and unique as videos recently posted on Aion Life.

Some of you might know me from the WoW-machinima scene.

Well, now I present you my first (which also might be the last) Aion machinima. It’s a bit of a mash-up between a music video and an exploration piece.

The video is done in the style of my Unlimited Escapism (World of Warcraft) videos, but with more music video-styled editing.

Making Aion machinima is currently only limited to ingame filming since there is no model viewer of any kind.

You can check them out here and be sure to post your own faves. I'm amazed at how much players can do just using in game graphics and video editing!

    What bosses await?

A new Bosstiary is up and reveals a lot of info behind the bosses. To me it doesn't give a lot of "new" info or anything more than the maps/boss locations, but it's still pretty cool.

They say that knowledge can be a greater boon than even the most powerful spells, or armor, or weapons. The battles that lie ahead beyond the gates of Icecrown will test your mettle like none before, and you will need all the help you can get. So arm yourself with knowledge, and discover the truth about the dangers that await you within the Frozen Halls in our new Icecrown Dungeon Bosstiary.

The Bosstiary awaits over at the official site.

New dungeons, raids, armor, and some unannounced content for EverQuest 2
    eq2_sf_sunderedfrontier__10_

Remember Odus from EverQuest? It was a small continent, but it packed a punch. If you had reason to go there (apart from starting an Erudite character), you knew you were going to be in for something challenging, fun, and rewarding. Now, Odus comes to EverQuest 2 with the upcoming expansion, Sentinel's Fate. We spoke with EQ2 Producer, Alan Crosby to get the skinny on this exciting new expansion. We were able to get info about new armor sets, raids, and how the Hole comes into play.

Our art team is working very hard on whole kinds of assorted new armor sets. With the new snap-on system we have, which allows us to just add individual pieces to give armor different looks, our goal is to have more new looks for armor than we currently have. Hopefully, if we get everything in that we want to, you’ll see more new types and appearances for armor than there currently are.

#1,213 - Why is MMO and FPS such a tough match?
    Loading... Logo

The idea of a Call of Duty MMO was met with a lot of hostility from the Ten Ton Hammer boards, which doesn't bode well for what will prove to be a major theme in 2010 - the persistent world shooter.

Three top-tier genre benders are slated for release next year, so what can they do to capture an already listless MMOG crowd? Does the lack of story and persistence, the blistering pace, the notoriously rough-edged playerbase, or the lack of slick shooter skills play a bigger role in making the MMOFPS an uncomfortable proposition?

Thoughts on this topic plus a brand new Sins of a Solar Empire feature and three new or newly rebuilt guides in today's Loading... A Pwn in Their Game.

A look at a guns blazing, arrows shooting ranged dps build!
    cagematch003

Creating a build for Champions Online can be difficult with the insane number of choices a player has. Fortunately for you, your friends at Ten Ton Hammer are here to provide a quick guide for a ranged dps build to help you unleash death upon your foes from a long ways away.

This ranged dps build is based upon several power sets, primarily the munitions, archery, and fighting claws power sets. There is also a little telekinesis and force power sets sprinkled in. Why are there some fighting claws powers, you ask? Well, despite its reputation as a melee power set, there are some excellent ranged abilities as well. Please note that not every power listed will be a ranged power. There will be a couple of melee attacks as well, and to answer your question as to why, the reason is that sometimes your enemy will get up to you and you’ll need something up your sleeve.

Fifteen Years of MMO Memories
The Ten Ton Hammer community shares some of our favorite MMO stories

Asheron's Call and Everquest celebrated their tenth anniversaries earlier this year and both EverQuest 2 and World of Warcraft mark their fifth anniversaries this month. It's a milestone year for many MMOs, so we asked our team and members of our community to share some of tales they've accumulated during their playing careers. Most our humorous, some are touching, but all of them highlight the best part of the massively multiplayer experience: the community.

From the article:

“My favorite MMOG memories happened in Meridian59...  [The game dialog] used to say "You can't spell while resting," so I would type nonsense words while I was at the inn resting. They finally changed the message to, "You can't cast spells while resting."” - Ten Ton Hammer member sourpuss

Thanks to all who participated, and we hope you'll enjoy the article (Shay and Machail contributed two awesome stories, so it's well worth a read even if you've already checked out the thread).
