  • Dungeons and Basements - Oldschool.
GamerGod has posted a Dungeons and Dragons interview featuring nine short questions. A Bugbear, a skeleton and a gnoll walked into a basement and said:

"Will this be just another MMORPG? With so much competition, what will make DDO a standout from the rest? These questions were on my mind when I recently sat down with the dev's of DDO..."

GameCloud has posted a City of Villains Interview featuring David "Zeb" Cook. All Deliverance jokes involving the word "Zeb" were removed from this news posting. In there place we give you:

"Last year, developer Cryptic Studios and publisher NCSoft released City of Heroes, their long awaited super hero themed MMORPG, to solid sales and reviews. Now the one big thing that most reviewers and players felt was lacking in the original game is about to be taken care of in City of Villains, the stand alone MMO that will give player the chance to try out the dark side. Gamecloud got a chance to chat with the game's lead designer David "Zeb" Cook to find out more about City of Villains."

  • GameSpot puts the screws to Scott Brown.
GameSpot has posted an Auto Assault Interview with NetDevil president Scott Brown. Sleep deprivation, hunger and things we simply can't write about here resulted in the following:

"NetDevil is set to broaden its beta test soon for Auto Assault, the online role-playing game where you get to participate in high-speed vehicular combat in a postapocalyptic world. In Auto Assault, you will create a character based on one of three races, take on missions, upgrade your vehicle and weapons, and blow up everything in the world while you're at it. And as you can probably tell, Auto Assault is certainly a change of pace from conventional online role-playing games, which rely on swords and sorcery. The broadening of a beta test is an important milestone for many online RPGs, as it signifies that most of the content is locked down and now needs to be tested on a larger scale. We caught up with NetDevil president Scott Brown for a progress report, and he gave us some interesting details on the game, thus far."

  • Even villains like their 15 minutes of fame.
GameHelper has posted a City of Villains interview featuring Senior Designer, David "Zeb" Cook. The Riddler appeared in our office and said something that didn't resemble this at all:

"For City of Villains, we’ve created a whole new setting, the Rogue Isles, for villain players.  Located in the Atlantic and beyond the jurisdiction of the heroes of Paragon City, the Rogue Isles are ruled by Lord Recluse, head of Arachnos, a world-wide evil organization bent on – well, the same things all evil supergroups want. This gives us a place where players can be villains without having to worry about being overrun by the thousands of hero characters already out there.  The Rogue Isles fit with the existing CoH timelines hand-in-glove and you will see crossover between the two – story elements, famous characters, and, of course, player interaction in the PvP zones."

  • Why do villains live in such dingy, dirty places?
IGN has posted a City of Villains interview featuring Senior Designer Sean Fish. On an island of villains backed by the U.N. we found the following etched into a slab of rock:

"Today we got the chance to talk to Senior Designer Sean Fish about what exactly a signature villain is, where they'll be in the game, and when players can expect to actually see them."
