Lineage II has become the latest subscription title to report huge success from adopting a free-to-play model. In a recent press release, NCsoft announced that since the launch of its Goddess of Destruction update, which introduced the new “Truly Free” business model, Lineage II has seen a huge surge in both players and revenue.

Following the launch of the Goddess of Destruction update, Lineage II more than doubled its number of servers to accommodate the influx of players and more than quadrupled its revenue. Additionally, the peak concurrent number of players has increased by more than 800%.
