Level range indicates optimum level range to gain XP from
kills. Resources indicates crafting materials available from nodes and
from hide-bearing creatures in the area - humanoid mobs may drop other
types of items. Mobs indicates the dominant creature types that can be
found in the area, with links to their relevant slayer deeds where
appropriate. Landmarks include named points of interest and deed
locations, with links to relevant deeds.

Description: The starting area

Thorin's Gate is populated mostly by Dwarves and low-level mobs. The
Thorin's Halls Homesteads are arguably the most accessible homesteads
of the four races, just a stone's throw from the Stable-master near
Frerin's Court. There are several explorable mines in the area,
including Skorgrim's Tomb up past the Refuge of Edhelion, which houses
level 45 wights and spirits and has an instant-death trap suqre in the
middle.

mountain home of the Dwarves. Orodost, across the vale from Noglond, is
a great place to complete the Goblin-slayer deed, but be warned: the
path through the place leads directly to Sarnur, which is a large
level-50-range instance. A small camp of high-level Dourhands are
camped outside the entrance to Sarnur - approach with caution, and with
Ancient Dwarf-make weapons.

Description: A transitional area

craggy heights of the north and the alarmingly-green foothills of the
south, marked with dangerous valleys and hillside barrows. The lynx
cave, near Thrasi's Lodge, is a good place for completing the
Hendroval-slayer deed, and Kheledul is a great place for the
Brigand-slayer deed. Talath Ondren is not bad for the spider-slayer
deed, but the spider nest in Rath Teraig is better because of fast
spawns. The wights at Emyn Hoedh are level 12 - 14, and make decent
fodder for the Race of Man's Enmity of the Dead deeds. Be mindful of
higher-level elite mobs wandering around the barrows and the spider den

Description: A mountain path to
the Grey Havens,
taken over by goblins. Goblin camps spot this canyon, and the little
brutes tend to attack en masse rather than singularly, owing to their
dense clustering. Crookdell can be a bit hard to find, since it's at
the top of a winding path leading through a handful of goblin
camps. The spider nest, near the Southern Barricade, is a
great
place for the Spider-slayer deed - there are lots of spiders there with
quick spawn times, and the area is fairly small and contained.

  • Falathlorn Homesteads (25.2S, 90.7W)
  • The Eastway (24.8S, 89.8W)

Description: The starting area
for elves, with the
twin cities of Celondim and Duillond. For non-elves, the way it works
is, anytime you need something from the elves of Ered Luin,
it's always located in the other town. For example, during the
festivals, Celondim is the town with the swift travel destination from
all other stable-masters, but the festival stuff happens in Duillond.
The mobs around here are low-level, and the pond in Nen Hilith is a
great place for the Wolf-slayer deed. Falathlorn Homesteads are the
very least conveniently-located of all the racial housing areas, far
from any Stable-masters - the Bree-land Housing area may be a slightly
longer run from South Bree, but there are no lethal drops on the way.
Be prepared for a lot of extra walking or broken ankles.

Landmarks:

  • Sarnur Great Hall
  • Sarnur Keep
  • Sarnur Caverns

Description: The great frozen pit
of Sarnur is
over-run by wicked Dourhands, savage trolls and other evils. There are
3 main areas here, divided by instance-type doorways, and each area is
quite large and filled to the brim with powerful mobs. While most mobs
in the Great Hall are not all that bad (level 45 - 47 normals), the
creatures in the deeper areas have massive damage mitigation against
most damage types. Fighting them with anything other than Ancient
Dwarf-make or Light damage weapons is like trying to dig a tunnel
through concrete with a plastic spork - you may get there eventually
but it's going to take a while. Make sure you have Ancient Dwarf-make
weapons and Ancient Dwarf-make
shield spikes for your Guardian or Warden. If you are a Hunter or
Warden and don't have Ancient Dwarf-make damage on your weapons, you
can apply Light Oil, which works also. There are a number of rare
signature mobs here that drop Beryl Shards, and these elites all have
massive damage mitigation.
