TOWNS AND QUEST HUBS
These are the towns, camps and other assorted places where
players can pick up quests. Level range describes the optimum level
range for XP gain. Important NPCs are those who bestow quest chains or
are crucial to the epic storyline, with position coordinates listed if
located outside the main hub. Description is a broad guideline of what
to expect from each quest hub without going into too specific of detail.

Description: The great dwarven
stronghold ruled by
Thorin Oakenshield at the time of the dwarves' return to the Lonely
Mountain, when the keys were handed over to the Dourhands. The
Dourhands did a horrible job of managing the place, ruining the
pristine mountainsides with their feckless greed and massive disregard
for nature, and also dabbling in necromancy and engaging in evil pacts
with Ivar Bloodhand to reanimate the corpse of Skorgrim, who fought
against the elves in days long past. The hall itself is grand and
stately, with all amenities and services available within its mighty
walls, and the courtyard to the south, partially restored to its former
greatness by the new steward, Dwalin, overlooks the devastation caused
by the Dourhands during their rule.
alt="Celondim"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/94551">
Celondim
was built the week before the guy invented the safety railing.

Description: The elf starting area, home
of the finest
elven vintners in all of Ered Luin and the docks where riverboats make
stops while traveling north and south along the River Lune. A complex,
multi-level town with winding staircases
and gorgeous domed buildings, spread out among the surrounding cliffs
and steep hills. Quests involve the failure to prevent the reanimation
of Skorgrim and other elfy things in the surrounding hills.
alt="Duillond"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/94552">
"Duillond"
is elven for "Wet 'N' Wild Water Slide".
DUILLOND
Level Range: 6 - 8
Important NPCs:
Town Services:
- Grocer
- Mailbox
- Milestone
- Notary
- Study
- Normal crafting facilities (no crafting vendors)
- Wandering supplier
- Reflecting Pool
- Stable-master (Needlehole, Gondamon, Thorin's Gate,
Celondim, Falathlorn Homesteads, Thrasi's Lodge) - Armour and Weaponsmiths
- Festival area
Description: The sister town to
Celondim, just a
short hike up the road and evidently designed by the same elven
architectural firm, with more winding stair-cases and ankle-spraining
drops. These towns provide an interesting contrast to the dwarven
architecture in the north, with its straight lines and cavernous feel -
the elven towns are much more open and airy, complementing their
natural surroundings rather than being carved from them. Note that this
is the "gateway" town to the Falathlorn homesteads, which are rather
closer to the gate leading to Needlehole, and that the Stable-master in
Duillond has no swift-travel destinations.
alt="Noglond" src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/94553">
The
site of an amusing but all-too-common faily dynamic between Gisli and
his father.
NOGLOND
Level Range: 7 - 10
Important NPCs: Rothgar, Geitir,
Grimkell Stonebearer, Wali, Gisli
Town Services:
- Grocer
- Stable-master (Thorin's Gate, Gondamon)
Description: A waypoint for the
dwarves just down
the road from Thorin's Gate, built across the road from a
formerly-glorious keep now infested with rotten little goblins. Noglond
is more of a staging point than a proper town, with spare services and
amenities.
alt="Gondamon"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/94554">
Dwarves
built the walls and towers. Elves did the landscaping.
GONDAMON
Level Range: 10 - 13
Important NPCs: Askell, Bolli,
Mathi, Otkell, Gailthin, Dorri, Gafi, Tran Stoneskin
Town Services:
- Class trainers
- Stable-master (Thorin's Gate, Duillond, Noglond, Thrasi's
Lodge) - Standard crafting facilities with Novice vendors, Crafting
Guild Trainer and Master of Apprentices - Provisioner

- Grocer
- Healer
- Armour and Weapon vendors
- Milestone
- Mailbox
- Bard
Description: The centerpiece of
Ered Luin, where
Dwarves and Elves mix freely and located equidistant between the two
racial starting areas. Despite its central location, there are
no swift travels here, but town services are abundant. This town is the
setting for the Siege of Gondamon skirmish.

The
ballistae tell me that something unsavory is happening on the other
side of that wall...

fortification of the Dwarves. Quests from here involve the killing of
the vermin that has infested this passage to the Grey Havens.
alt="Thrasi's Lodge"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/94556">
A
Bree-style house
out in the wilderness where hunters and rangers gather to drink beer
and organize fundraisers.
THRASI'S LODGE
Level Range: 9 - 12
Important NPCs: Thrasi, Langlas,
Celairant, Lynx-mother
Town Services:
- Stable-master (Gondamon, Duillond)
Description: The epic prologue
concludes here with an instanced assault on Rath Teraig. Non-epic
quests involve tending to the local wildlife, some of which is wilder
than others.
alt="Ovorlas" src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/94557">
Standing
vigilant watch over the bubble-gum trees.

these NPCs are unlocked by completing chains elsewhere. Brethilwen has
some quests for Limael's Vinyard and Ovorlas has some quests for Nen
Hilith.
