PvMP AS A CHAMPION

What
has a thumb and likes killin' creeps? THIS GUY!

Champions are in more or less the same boat as Guardians when
it comes to the Ettenmoors. They don't heal others, they wear heavy
armor, they have lots of self-buffs that make them incredibly dangerous
and they can seriously mess things up for creeps, so they are
often avoided in favour of squishier targets. They don't get the same
"carte blanche" free pass that Guardians get, but it's pretty close.

In
one-on-one spars, Champions are quite powerful - they can move around a
lot and hit full area-effect attacks, hitting their opponents while
avoiding direct frontal contact that could put them in danger. For
spars, traiting a balanced mix of Martial Champion and Berserker lines
will allow the Champion to tear through single opponents like a hot
knife throough butter.

For raiding with other freeps, mixing Martial Champion and
Deadly Storm traits is the way to go. Champions offer a couple of very
important things to PvMP raids - spamming area-effect attacks can knock
skulking wargs out of stealth, preventing them from pouncing unprepared
squishies in the back; and rushing the front lines to blast a horn will
keep the frontline creeps from mounting a coordinated attack, and keep
them still long enough to make them juicy targets.

Blood Rage is another useful skill for PvMP. Creeps like to
stun and otherwise immobilize their targets to better single them out,
and Blood Rage is the antidote. For bigger fights with lots of spiders,
wargs and defilers, Sprint and the legendary skill Continuous Blood
Rage will keep the Champion mobile (though Continuous Blood Rage will
prevent the fleet-footed Champion from receiving any kind of healing
while active). Speed, mobility and area-effect attacks are the best
defense against initial creep onslaughts.

Typically, Champions will occupy the front lines of raids,
along with Guardians and Wardens. They will lead the charges against
opposing creep groups with Sprint, crashing against the Reavers and
Warleaders with devastating area-effect attacks to knock any hiding
wargs out of stealth and apply a few bleeds, sound a horn for a big
area-effect stun, then pick a target, burn it fast and get out before
the creeps can mount a counter-defense.
