PvMP AS A RUNE-KEEPER

style="border: 0px solid ; width: 240px; height: 367px; float: left;"
alt="Rune-keeper in Ettenmoors"
src="http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/93433">

"I
ain't here to be pretty, I'm here to zap creeps."

You feel like making a few enemies? Take your Rune-keeper out
to the Ettenmoors. You'll accomplish that goal in no time flat. Creeps
loathe and fear Rune-keepers.

A couple of considerations before
heading out there, though: first, trait for all-out DPS. For the most
part, you won't have a lot of time to heal, and if you do go into
healing mode, it makes you a target. Trait for DPS first, and if you
join a raid that needs a healer, make sure you have enough heavies to
keep your butt covered.

The Rune-keeper is particularly effective
against 3 creep classes. Weavers like to weaken their enemies with
poison, which can be countered by The Fang Will Not Poison. Uruk
Blackarrows like to apply loads and loads of fire-damage-over-time, and
this can be countered by The Blade Will Not Wound. Warg Stalkers like
to sneak up behind folks and open with a stunning Pounce, but they can
be prevented from doing si with Flurry of Words, which can be placed at
strategic points (at the foot of a bridge, for instance, or in a
doorway) and pop them out of stealth with  area-effect damage.
No stealth, no Pounce.

And,
of course, there's the nice array of stuns from lightning-based attacks
and slows from cold-based attacks. Either of these can turn a creep
from a threat into a target. Traiting Icy Discourse for the slowing
effect on Chilling Rhetoric is a pretty good idea, and will give you a
bit more time to react if you suddenly find yourself in trouble.

Rune-keepers
can afford to be "kamikazes" in the 'Moors. As with soloing, the
Rune-keeper wants to stay in combat as much as possible to keep his
battle-attunement high; this is a class that is stronger and more
dangerous as a part of a raid, where fighting is more constant and
high-attunement can be maintained for longer periods. Unfortunately,
creeps tend to have higher mitigations against fire, lightning and
cold, so the Rune-keeper will not likely hit a 10k+ Epic Conclusion
against creep players, even if given the time to fully buff. Big Epic
Conclusion hits in the 'Moors generally run around 4-5k, which is still
darn strong.

One big advantage the Rune-keeper has in PvMP is the
ability to make ranged attacks while on the move. This helps immensely
during spars; the Rune-keeper can keep moving, out-manouevering his
opponent's reflexes, and still hit big, deadly lightning attacks.

One
big disadvantage: the Rune-keeper is a lightly-armored,
big-damage-dealing, heal-capable class. That makes him a prime target,
putting him in the same club as Hunters and Minstrels.
