Publisher Aeria Games is bringing the F.E.A.R. series to the free-to-play space with F.E.A.R. Online, a new multiplayer shooter developed by Koran developer Inplay Interactive. F.E.A.R. Online includes team combat modes that can take place across 10 horror-themed maps. The maps pit the Armacham Technology Corporation and the elite F.E.A.R. team at odds and brings back mechanics like the F.E.A.R. 3 Soul King mode, which allows players to possess enemies to use their skills and accumulate more fallen souls than their opponents.

The shooter also expands on the story of the series’ psychic terror, Alma Wade, through new cooperative scenarios. The new missions place up to four players in in new story that runs parallel to the events of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin. The teams will take on hostile Armacham and monsters from the series while finding out more about the creepy Alma.

You can sign up for the closed beta on the F.E.A.R. Online website. Check out the trailer below for a peek of things to come.
