It wasn't too long ago that analyst were betting against the success of Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR), In January, analysts believed that the game would have trouble with initial sales and subscription retention with a growing market of free-to-play titles. But those beliefs appear to be trending the other way as the year goes on.

In April, analysts predicted that the game could achieve 1 million subscribers in its first year, but in a Gamasutra report earlier today, it appears that analyst may be getting a little more confident in SWTOR. According to the report, analyst group Cowen and Company revealed its new estimates stating that the game is on track to sell over 3 million units in its first year. The report notes that the pre-order sales for SWTOR are trending "well or better" than that of Blizzard's StarCraft II and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion, which both reportedly sold over 4 million copies.

Confidence is certainly growing in SWTOR, but can BioWare deliver on all the hype? Tell us what you think below.
